Went for a hernia removal & Dr. Richard told me he would have to remove my belly button which is part of his procedure.. I refused then he asked me, "well you don't eat with it, you don't breath with it, what do you need it for?" I said well my physical appearance is important to me.. Then he tells me well you'll be like "Eve." I tell him I don't believe in Adam & Eve but thank you anyway & walked out. I called our family surgeon & mentioned all that he said... The surgeon was in disbelief & shocked stating "he's in the wrong field, I remove hernias when I do a tummy tuck procedure & reconstruct the belly button. Never EVER do I leave anyone without a belly button." Lesson learned.. He will tell you he can't reconstruct your belly button. Get a second opinion for sure.
