The transparency at Bridgeport Manor is phenomenal. I love working in great environment and as a new nurse our Administrative department has provided great services and support for residents and all nursing departments. We have the best DIRECTOR of Nursing, & Assistant, Also The Supervisors are great. Nurses and CNA's work hand in hand to fulfill the duties of the patients. I am very thankful that The Lord has positioned me at Bridgeport Manor so I will be among those kind and faithful Nursing staffs. I am thankful that God has positioned me at a place that people really care for their patients. God continued to uplift and bless everyone that continue to work hard in making Bridgeport Manor a great place to live and convalescence.

Through terrible misfortune, all of it resulting from her own doing, my now deceased sister was once a resident at this place, which is now closed. The facility was horribly managed, abusively so, and the principal operator was actually imprisoned because of embezzlement, that is how bad it was. Google "Chaim Stern Bridgeport Manor" for details. They're ugly! The 5 rating is obviously not for the quality of the care & services provided here, or for anything else associated with B.M. (ha! that's perfect.) It is for something my sister did while she was residing here. At a very late time in her life when she reasonably felt she might have little or nothing to lose, she took a bold & righteous action regarding the horrid management of this place that has left me impressed, even awed. While my sister was here, a new site director was appointed who came in with the intention of "cleaning up the place" and improving upon its bad reputation. That included getting rid of several stray cats that flocked around the building because the residents fed them. They may have been a genuine health & safety concern, but it was one of the few things that gave the residents any pleasure at all in that place, and the staff didn't like the idea of getting rid of them, understanding how it would affect morale. The director was acting strictly on behalf of the principal operator and was going to eliminate the cats by the most efficient means, meaning they would be mostly or completely exterminated. My sister, who liked caring for the cats as much as anyone, got herself elected president of the residents association, which may or may not have existed before this came up. It certainly was the issue over which she sought the role, and she managed to get the director FIRED! I don't know all the details, and I may never. Obviously having the support of the staff would have been a help, but she was definitely active & determined in bringing about that result.I expect that in doing so, she resorted to actions that might generally be considered underhanded, duplicitous, disruptive, and troublesome or hurtful to others. Sadly, she exhibited those behaviors frequently during her entire life. That was a big part of her terrible misfortune--prior to being at B.M. she had been on the streets, in homeless camps, and in various shelters. B.M. was actually an improvement for her. Those usually self-destructive & undesirable behaviors were, however, justified & likely effective in the case of the cats. Considering the overall situation, she acted for the greater good, and succeeded. My sister's remains are now interred about 4 miles away at Mountain Grove Cemetery (4 rating) (The ashes I am scattering in the photo are from a small portion I kept for special location commemorations). There is a tomb near her mausoleum niche with the name "Lundberg" on it. I have written extensively about someone with that name in other reviews on both Google & Yelp, and have also tweeted (@davidsfr) about him & a cultish group of his followers I refer to as The Gluttoneers under the hashtag #dishingdirtonthegluttoneers. You can see the ugly details that led me to feel a sense of "comic relief" pleasure when I discovered the tomb on the day of my sister's interment. I felt like she had somehow brought the circumstances about, and was telling me to go ahead and indulge that pleasure. I have posted a photo of the tomb on Twitter every time I have visited her there, with the caption "Some Sweet Day!" a lyrical refrain by Simple Minds. I used to delete the tweet when I left the cemetery, but now I just leave it up each time. Like my sister when she embarked to save the stray cats, my actions & behavior may be regarded as petty & malicious, unbecoming, even downright nasty. Nonetheless, like my sister's actions when she was the resident president, mine are well warranted. It goes on. So does the overall Campaign for Gluttony Justice. It will end when there is justice.
