Horrible experience. I was referred to Todd to treat a very mild depressive issue by another LMFT who I was currently seeing for marriage counselling. After my current cousellor raved about how amazing he was, I decided I would take her advice. Upon calling the office, I was asked a number of questions by the incredibly unprofessional receptionist. She had stated that they needed to gain information as to why I needed to be seen so that Todd can screen his clients and see if he wanted to take the new patient on (understandable to a degree). She began asking me questions that quickly progressed to very personal questions. Questions that I would hesitiate to tell a therapist, yet I'm supposed to answer them to a receptionist? "Have you ever tried to commit suicide and if so, how did you do it? What methods did you use?" Seriously? That was just the tip of the ice-berg. After gaining all of my info, she told me she would give the file to Todd to review and would give me a call back later that day to confirm if he would "accept me" or not. 2 days passed before I received a phone call. The receptionist told me that unfortunatly I didn't make the cut. I asked since I was referred to him, does he have any recommendations as to where I may be able to go (he works in a large pratice with many other DRs). Receptionist told me "No sorry, ask your Dr (who reffered me in the first place) and see if she has any other options". Seriously? Avoid this place if you want any help whatsoever and go someplace else, where they actually care about your well being.
