Purchased a house through her over 3 years ago. I've spent over $50k replacing the shoddy work in this house and I'm not even close to finished. I thought I was buying a turn key, move-in ready house, but I bought a fixer upper at a turn key price. I wouldn't blame her, but she was selling her daughter's home and she was either complicit or her daughter lied to her. I would blame the inspector, but every contractor I've had over, said the previous owner covered up the issues with paint and expanding foam. So, buyer beware. Assume her son-in-law did all the renovations with expanding foam and paint, and will need to be replaced.
