Update #2 I am going to make this short and sweet. After my husband spoke to the owner of the shop and took our truck back for repair the owner explained everything. He tried to save an already compromised/bad part of the truck to spare us an expensive cost. He did state that it might not work, but still made an effort just to help us out. When it did not work and a major repair was needed the owner partially refunded the cost of the last repair and applied that to the repair bill. The repair is not one many mechanics actually do, but he does and did the work excellently. He repaired the truck and actually found potential future major problems and repaired those too. Now, how many mechanics do that? Most of them just stick to the repair job and send you home knowing something else is going bad. He repaired everything that he came across that was problematic. He actually did above and beyond what he was supposed to do and charged thousands less then other mechanics for the job. We were wrong in our thinking that he was being dishonest. He has proved to be a very honest, hard working and excellent mechanic. My husband says, a good mechanic is hard to find and he is a good one, he feels comfortable bringing his car to Ansonia Automotive Services. Update My husband was able to speak with the owner of Ansonia Automotive Services LLC. and something is being worked out with our vehicle. I will update the rating and give more information when the matter has reached a resolution. Spark plug came out and I went there for repair. Work lasted a few months and it happened again at the same spot. I thought it was a different spot but it wasn't. The owner pretended it was a different Spark plug and charged me again several hundreds of dollars to fix the issue. It fell out in a few days. When I called he said it would cost me over $2000 to fix it. He did not mention that he should not have charged me for the second fix because it was still under warranty. To be treated so dishonestly is horrible. This is the only car for our family and we are on a tight budget. The owner should be ashamed. If I can rate lower for how I was treated I would.

Took my truck to these people little over a year ago for my clutch slipping. Had to pay $1,300 for parts and labor. Clutch was $250 and labor should have been about $500 for this job. I paid because I needed the truck back asap. The very next day the clutch started slipping again. Brough it back and they said it was the clutch master cylinder, they replaced it $250 for an $50 part and it was fine after. But why was my transmission removed again if it was just the master cylinder? Fishy? 14 months later (today) my truck is having a hard time getting into first gear from a stop and its hard to shift into second gear. I called them up and described the issue. They said bring it in but before that I asked about the warranty on the work that was done. They said its one year parts and labor and that I am just past that so now I have to come out of pocket again?! No clutch only lasts a year! Dont trust these people. The workers get paid under the table and not hourly. Paid by the job. Should be investigated for tax fraud.

Dear Moses. First, we value your business very much and work very hard to earn it. We did in fact did some extra little things while we were working on your car without charging extra for. Everything that you paid us to repair was done to the highest standard. The problem was that most of your tire pressure sensor valves got corroded and needed to be replace because they're built in a way that's the valve stem is not replaceable alone. Our initial focus were on fixing the slow leak on the 2 rear valve stems. Once the new sensors have been installed, we started the programing process and found out that the 2 front sensors is no readable due to faulty or out of battery. Therefore, we were unable to complete the program for it. We are not stealing anything from anyone. Every single parts that we installed in your car come with cost and labor and always get authorized before work is performed. Telling people that we robbed you is totally not fair for us. We work hard just like everyone else to make a living and very proud of our jobs. Please feel free to contact us if you need further explanation.

Truck came in with stripped spark plug threads. We did mentioned that the sure way to fix the problem is to replace the cylinder head. Customer asked to help fix it without replace the cylinder head. We tried but it only worked for awhile. We ended up replace the cylinder head and partially refunded the previous charges. We work hard to earn a living and tried our best to help customer save money as the same. It's just sometime things don't always goes as we wished. We always stand behind all of our work and if there is any problems arrived, we always took care of it as soon as possible. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or problems. Thanks

Customer called to get price on clutch job. We gave price over the phone and he agreed to dropped of the truck for the clutch replacement without asking for a full diagnosis. When the job was done he came back and complaint about the same problem that he had experienced before. We gave him a free diagnosis and found that the clutch cylinder has an internal leak and replaced it. Our standard warranty is 1 year/12,000 miles parts and labor warranty which is the same as most car dealership. Also, how did the customer know how we paid our employees. Maybe he is assuming that everyone is the same???
