My mother spent the last couple weeks of her life here and the nurses, social workers, chaplains and everyone else showed her so much kindness. I'll be forever grateful that they were so dedicated to making her time as comfortable and peaceful as possible. The center itself is beautiful. From the gardens to the serenity room, the hospice center is a wonderful place. Thank you for all the care shown to my mother and to myself during our time there.

My husband's family utilized in-home hospice facilitated by Lutheran Hospice for my father-in-law and we did not have a good experience. The first nurse we saw was very nice and unfortunately we never saw her again. After that we had a nurse who was extremely rude to us and did not advocate for us or my FIL. They acted extremely inconvenienced to have to come to his home to care for him. I had to ask for medications and how to give them, and I was given flippant answers that were not helpful. We requested supplies and were told we would get them within a few days - most of them did not show up until after he passed. We were told that they couldn't get certain medications, but then those medications would show up with no instructions on use. We tried to have a CNA come and help us move my FIL to the hospital bed when the bed arrived (which we were promised would be coordinated) and they did not show up. They did not show up to help bathe or change him either. I had to have the fire department come help us move him. When he passed, the nurse who came to pronounce him was not compassionate whatsoever. In fact, the funeral home gentlemen were far more caring and compassionate than the hospice nurse. Overall, it was a complete failure to properly help us care for my FIL, putting a huge amount of strain on my mother-in-law despite my husband and I's help. They never signed the MOST/DNR form, or at least never gave us a copy. I am in healthcare and these failures are unacceptable. I hope that the in-patient hospice is better because the out-patient experience was terrible and I do not recommend it.

It wasnt long after being transferred to hospice that my father passed but it was such a beautiful and peaceful place for my dad to spend his last hours. Dan was his nurse and my dads angel. He picked up on all the non verbal cues that my dad was no longer able to express, helping him ease his pain and suffering. Thank you Dan. To the next shift nurse, Jessie, and his pt care tech, John, thank you for being there for my mom. Watching someone you love slowly die from a disease for which there is no known cure will shatter your heart and make you understand profound powerlessness. The staff there understands and supports you til the very end.
