I had a special needs client at this facility. She had wonderful care and great therapy there! We had other clients that were residents there as well. They were so pleased at how well their needs were met. The staff was always accommodating and pleasant when we arrived at the building. We always found clean conditions as well. Very happy to provide in home client care at this facility! A touch of Grace in home care services

Many of the positive reviews posted for Mountain Vista come from current and former staff members, and from people with a business connection (contractors and partner agencies) with a vested conflict of interest. I see one very specific poor review from a former resident's family member and suddenly a bunch of clearly solicited positive reviews. It's telling that Mountain Vista can't get more positive than negative reviews from real clients and their families. My father is leaving Mountain Vista after 5 years, during which time the level of care and especially the reliability and trustworthiness of the management has fallen off a cliff. Specific examples include literally years of an unreliable emergency call system that left residents stranded. Management lied to me repeatedly about steps to replace it & it never happened, and they simply ignored emails from multiple family members calling for it to be fixed or replaced. I personally witnessed many instances of prescription medication management mistakes and mismanagement. Again, I was lied to about reasons for the mistakes, and more often simply ignored. A junior staff person accepted money ($100) from a family member under very suspicious circumstances, given for dubious reasons, and I had proof of the "gift" & the staff person openly admitted to receiving it. This was a clear violation of Mountain Vista's own rules. After months of complaining to management about it and being ignored, I was told to "file a grievance." I did so and absolutely nothing was done and the staff person in question is still there to this day. We were told my father would be allowed to "age in place." Specifically, told "yes" when we clarified that he would be able to remain in his apartment if we brought Hospice in. Two months ago, management denied they said this and tried to force my Dad into their nursing home. He's since been thoroughly evaluated and accepted into three different Assisted Living facilities competing with Mountain Vista. We are moving him this week to one with better food, a cheerier atmosphere, with far better reviews by real residents and their family members, and it's over $1000 less than we are paying now to Mountain Vista. The marketing person at Mountain Vista succeeded in getting my previous review removed because I named managers. If they get this one deleted I'll try again. Plane and simple, in the words of one senior manager currently working there, "Mountain Vista is the worst it's ever been."

My father was at Mtn. Vista Assisted Living for over 10 years. At first it was a good, safe and pleasant place to be. Well before COVID, however, things changed. Experienced staff left. Every year it got worse. The full time staff are good, but are woefully understaffed, exhausted, demoralized, working double, and sometimes triple, shifts, which leads to contract people being brought in who told me they were not trained at all. My dad was given proven wrong medication, the paging system regularly went out, the food quality is horrible, documented HIPAA violations, and zero accountability. My dad was consistently telling me he had been calling for help for 45 minutes with no one coming. Grievances were filed, the ombudsman asked to attend meetings we called for, and no one, no one at any level, cared, there was no accountability, no follow-up, no communication and constant cover-ups about their true, and sometimes serious, mistakes. I'm sure they will respond to this review saying they care but the bottom proven line for years is that once you're in there, they don't care. I watch my partner struggle daily with the same thing with their parent. As much as I miss my father, and I was there every single day with him, I'm glad he's not still on this earth continuing to struggle for accountability where there is absolutely none. Where is their dignity as they age? Not at Mountain Vista.
