Alpenrose Vail

I stopped in with no reservations and was surprised to be seated quickly at a table for 2. I was solo traveling, finishing up the 23/24 ski season and was told this was a great place to try. I typically when dinning alone will ask for a bar seat but they do not offer any bar seating. This is definitely more of a date type atmosphere with the decor making you feel as if you're in a German cottage. The appetizer was by far my favorite dish I had for the meal. Although nothing I had was bad I just was not overly impressed with the schnitzel dish. The sausages in the broth were a nice addition to my meal but again just lacked overall depth in flavor. I suppose I was putting expectations high and set myself up for a tough evaluation of the food here. I would live to revisit and try other dishes on the menu and next time save room for dessert. The pastry counter at the front had some amazing looking options but I did leave full and satisfied just not overwhelmed with flavor. Definitely worth a try for a cute date night meal when in town. The liter of German beer was a great thirst quencher as well!

Authentic south German and swiss cuisine! Lovely atmosphere. Super friendly german-speaking staff!

We did the GONDOLA DINING experience So its a cute concept and definitely good for the gram but overall just sub par. Food was not seasoned like at all. You cook it on the grill and the fondue concept is actually beef broth not cheese. The rachlette you put cheese in a skillet underneath and put it on whatever you like . The best thing was the bratwurst . For 58$ a person it was A lot of food but would have rather had less of it and gotten a desert or a drink instead since the food was just okay. It would definitely be better to just sit and eat off the menu in the restaurant looking at the other reviews. Our waitress came to take our order/ deliver food/ and check on us once eventually we just had to walk down to the host to pay because she was downstairs talking to her coworkers behind the counter hanging out.
