Chipeta Lodge

Had a wonderful stay - food and drink at the Ridgway and Great White Buffalo bar were excellent. The room was charming, spotless, and spacious. Very easy drive in to Chipeta from Montrose airport, and straight forward drive over to Telluride for skiing.

This place and ownership are thieves. They hit you with extra charges after to secure the room with your credit card. This has happened twice to us. They then lie and tell you that you will be reimbursed and that never happens and they dont answer the phone and dont return calls. Also looks like its under construction. Something fishy going on. Never again !!!

The lodge itself was amazing. There is a hot tub a swimming pool ( not year round) and breakfast at 8 AM at the main building. Sometimes you will get loud neighbors like we did. The quiet hours are only 8 AM to 10 PM. And the resort is really great. Oh and only some rooms are pet friendly make sure to use the right one. Walkability: Besides the death looking stairs to the room it is fine.

Note - The entire resort is being brought back to live by the new owners and the updates that have been made and that are in the works will make this resort even better. My recent stay at Chipeta Lodge was an unforgettable experience, marked by exceptional service, good food and an intimate and warm conference area that exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Darcie at the front desk, whose professionalism and genuine hospitality set the tone for the entire visit. Darcie and all the other employees attention to detail and wealth of knowledge about the property and the surrounding area ensured that my stay was as enjoyable and seamless as possible. She went above and beyond to accommodate any requests I had, making me feel valued and well taken care of throughout my time at Chipeta Lodge. In addition to the exceptional service provided by Darcie and the others, Chipeta Lodge itself exceeded my expectations in terms of accommodations, amenities, and overall ambiance. The pet friendly room we stayed in was super comfortable, very clean, and included a full-size kitchen that we cooked dinner in one night after vising the market a block or two down the street from the lodge. Many of the rooms have their own hot tubs outside of the room. The rooms have a ton of character and are being redone as part of the complete renovation taking place. There is an inviting pool area that includes a large hot pool that is elevated and covered. This is a great place to relax after a day of exploring all there is to do around the area. The spa is being redone and was not open while we were there. I will make sure and take advantage of this the next time we stay there. Once the spa is open the Chipeta Lodge will offer all the amenities for a relaxing getaway. In addition to the superb service provided by Darcie and everyone else, the dining experience at The Ridgway restaurant, overseen by John, a level 2 sommelier, was nothing short of exceptional. John's passion for wine and food pairings elevated each dish to new heights, creating a culinary experience that left a lasting impression. I truly enjoyed the time John would spend talking about wines with my wife and me. If you are looking for a place to host an event the Chipeta Lodge is ready to accommodate. The on-site conference center is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including a top-of-the-line sound system and a 4K big screen, making it the perfect venue for hosting events of up to 40 people. Whether you're planning a business meeting, a corporate retreat, or a special event, the conference area at Chipeta Lodge provides everything you need for a successful and memorable gathering. The combination of exceptional service, culinary excellence, and excellent conference facilities makes Chipeta Lodge the ideal destination for travelers seeking a truly unforgettable experience. This was my first visit to Ridgway and am VERY glad I stayed at the Chipeta Lodge. When I saw this was a 3-star hotel I kept my expectations limited, but when I got on property expectations were exceeded. The hotel is a perfect blend of "Colorado Rustic" but new "vibe" feel. When I first arrived, I was met by a very friendly staff member, Darcie, and she told me all about the property and the amenities for my stay. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was more than friendly. We even got a chance to meet the owners. The other item to note is the onsite bar and restaurant. I can't think of another place I've stayed that the bartender, John, was a level 2 sommelier. He also makes a great old fashion. I'd like to come back in the summer when they have live music at the outside rooftop bar. If traveling to Ridgway or looking to ski at Telluride and don't want to be part of the hustle and bustle of a ski town, I would recommend the Chipeta Lodge.
