I didn't have big expectations for this hike but honestly, I'm glad I was wrong! It's a short hike coming in at less than 3 miles round trip but the views really pack a punch. It is far greener then I expected and surprisingly, there's even some small wetlands along the trail. The views of highway 550 and Bear Creek Falls are great. The trail doesn't really gain much elevation. But what it does gain, is mostly in the beginning. So expect a steep introduction. The mine at the end is pretty cool. The building is still there and you can even go into the mine quite a ways. I'll definitely repeat this one

Moderate hike, climbs 900 feet from Sutton Mines trailhead on 361. At the trailhead sign, take the trail up, not the old jeep track down. I enjoyed the hike and views. Interesting rocks found in Ralston Creek (photo uploaded to this Maps entry). Clothesline with discarded modern clothing takes away from historical experience. Don't add to it please.
