Prior to arrival we received a nice email telling us about the rooftop deck and heated swimming pool. When we arrived we found the entire hotel to be under various states of construction. Dust and debris everyone and the lobby smelled of paint/stain fumes. Add in dirty carpet, blow dryer didn't work, shower didn't drain and one of the steps outside was an irregular height leading to a tripping hazard. Bed was okay though.

Thankfully this lodge is in a beautiful location within walking distance of multiple restaurants. I booked this for My wife and I's anniversary weekend. I booked it SPECIFICALLY because it had a restaurant, Spa, pool, and rooftop bar onsite. Not once in any of the emails, texts or phone calls after the reservation did they inform us that they were doing a remodel of the rooftop bar, pool, AND that the restaurant was closed. they even sent a text the day of check in that said "we have a phenomenal restaurant on site offering dinner and brunch". I would say that if you book here, to call and make sure things will be open, but when we asked the staff at the front desk, they didn't even know that their own restaurant was closed!! Room was nice. the only saving grace was the Spa. Will definitely be choosing somewhere else in the future. Food & drinks: Dont know, they were all closed.

Wonderful hidden gem in SW Colorado - did a big climb earlier in the day that took much longer than expected (almost 13hrs) so was too tired for the 7.5hr drive home. Looked up the closest hotel on the route home and found this place and was won over by the hot tub. Turns out it's a huge, elevated outdoor hot tub surrounded by beautiful flowering trees and views of snow capped mountains (some of which I may have to come back to climb). Love the wood beam ceilings and decor and really appreciated the attention to small details like the free cookies and cold water at check-in (greatly appreciated after a long day) and the floor fan in the bedroom wardrobe which provided the perfect amount of white noise to sleep peacefully. The onsite restaurant was very convenient and the spa is something I may have to check out on a future visit. The location is perfect for accessing the corner of the state without the insane prices of a place like Telluride and has a cozy small town feel. Noteworthy details: Huge, elevated outdoor hot tub with fantastic views!

Great hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. They were under construction at the time which we unfortunately weren't wanted about ahead of time but other than the pool being worked on and some general messiness, it wasn't an issue (and the staff were plenty apologetic about it). The food at The Ridgeway on-site restaurant was good - not spectacular but good and the staff and atmosphere were enjoyable. We were there on for a Wednesday (sushi night) and Thursday dinner (regular menu) and enjoyed both nights. The live music on Wednesday night was quite enjoyable and tastefully done, not too loud and the performer was quite good. The drinks are great here, Savannah does a fantastic job. Both waitresses we had were also great, very on top of things and prompt. The room we had included a king bed with an additional day bed, nice kitchenette and a great private patio including a private hot tub for two which was well maintained and lovely to use. We had our two month old with us and had plenty of room and no issues. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a place to stay in Ridgeway, it was a great experience which I'm sure will only improve as they finish up renovations. I'd rank the hotel in the high range of three star hotels with the quality of the rooms closer to four stars. A few items to be aware of: my wife and I as well as both of my parents all had major cell phone coverage issues in Ridgeway (with my wife and I on T-Mobile and my parents on AT&T). We were told this is a common issue for the area (and Ouray as well) if you're not on Verizon. As the hotel had decent wifi it wasn't much of an issue, more of an annoyance. Also note that some of the smaller rooms (the one my parents stayed in) had a few minor inconveniences - the bathroom in their unit did not have a ceiling to separate the bathroom itself from the rest of the room (just the way it was built) and the only source of heat for the room was the gas fireplace (tied to the thermostat). Neither was a big deal, both minor inconveniences overall and apparently with the ongoing renovations they are adding ceilings to the bathrooms of any units like this. Just be aware of these items and request a more updated room when you book if these things are of concern. Again, would definitely recommend and plan to stay again in the future.
