I LOVE this hotel concept and ambiance, even the noise didn't bother me because I was expecting it. The reason I didn't enjoy it was because of the laundry fragrance on the towels and sheets. Synthetic fragrances give me terrible headaches and I couldn't sleep because the smell bothered me so much. Laundry detergents free of fragrance and NO dryer sheets is the best policy for people with allergies and sensitivities. I'm ok with natural essential oils. If they changed to deterrent free of fragrance I'd totally go back.

Love the idea of this place but not the execution. They made an effort to turn this jail into a lovely hotel. In the process they missed the opportunity to keep a lot of the history and details. Theres no story or pictures or anything that would make you understand the culture context aside from a few old bar doors in the hallway. In addition, it was as if they A-L-M-O-S-T got to the higher end look that they were going for. But a lot of it was tacky. Poorly printed taped up signs in the bathroom and sink area stated things such as, Our bathtubs have not been functioning bathtubs since 2019. You can only use the shower function. WE DO NOT ADVERTISE THAT WE OFFER BATHTUBS IN ANY OF OUR BOOKING SITES. (The bathtub IS front and center in the room.) The ice machine didnt have ice (which usually I wouldnt care but I was post surgery and needed it). The Keurig coffee maker was shared and in the hallway - also not connected to water. So, want your morning coffee hobble out to the hallway and cart your water. Plus the Clink (yes a separate entity but and attraction we were looking forward to) was closed for a private party. It was as if someone had the right idea but couldnt quit execute. Meh. But, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, the location is fantastic and, again, I liked the idea. So, I could have looked beyond some of the miss-steps if it wasnt for one thing the utter, complete and absolute lack of service. Day of arrival we received a voicemail notifying us that we would be billed and receive a text for how to check in. Great. Except there was no text. I was provided a call back number which was never answered. We arrived at the desk and it was unmanned - ALL DAY. I attempted to call the number again and we could hear the desk phone ringing. We waited 30 minutes before another guest walked in who awkwardly showed us where the keys were located. As we were never provided a door code and, therefore, come after hours we were locked out. Theres an emergency number listed - but they make clear is is only for emergencies only and seemed rather annoyed when it was called. There is NO ONE to contact if you have a question or simple concern. In the service industry that seems completely unprofessional. No one ever once returned our call, followed up or apologized. It was absolutely ridiculous. I will say, I was completely charmed by Pueblo in a way I never expected. Theres a lot of character in this town. I will certainly be back to visit but I will not stay at the Station. ------------------------------------------------------------------- As I can't figure out how to respond to the owner's statement, here's my update. I made no false statement that would damage a reputation. Rather I stated my opinion (which is what a review is) and what had accurately occurred. Check in is at 3:00. No one was present at the desk at any time that we saw. Period. No one answered the phone at any time. No one returned my phone call at any time. I did indeed see a housekeeper in the morning as we were leaving - which was not helpful with any of our concerns. As for your statement that the Clink and Station are a single entity: How would I know that? Especially when theres a sign for a private party? Was I supposed to go to them two hours later with a concern? Perhaps a sign at the front desk could have explained that. That would have been exceedingly helpful. When I called, I needed the door code. You gave me that after I explained the situation. Did I need anything else specifically at that moment. Nope. We got it figured out thanks to other guests. But an apology would have been nice - or an Ill look into it - or an anything else I can help you with? That would have been kind. (Still would be.) I did see an electric kettle. I did not see a pour over system or any coffee in the room. Could I have missed it - yep. I used the Keurig which I clearly saw. Yes. As I stated, you have signs in two places explaining the bathtub situation. I just stated what I saw.

Business Response on Google Sep 29th, 2023
Ellie, thank you for taking the time to write this elaborate review. I would like to point out some blatant inaccuracies. Your attempt at slandering our business is unfair and completely wrong. 1. The Station Hotel is fully staffed, 7 days of the week. Front desk attendants are present from 11:00am - 3:00pm daily. Housekeeping arrives as early as 8:00am daily and is working throughout the morning. The Clink and The Station are a single entity, the GM for the Bar is fully versed on hotel operations and works Tuesday - Saturday, 5:00pm -10:00pm.2. The emergency contact is on-call 24/7. During the conversation we had with you, there was no communication from you requesting or needing anything. I take phone calls daily and communicate with each of our guests through text and phone call.3. Each Room is equipped with an electric kettle and a pour-over coffee system. The Keurig in the hallway is an extra convenience if needed.4. 2 of our 7 guests suites have bathtubs that are not functioning. These bath tubs are being converted into showers. The construction process takes time and we have chosen not to do this during our peak season.Thank You - Management.
