Renovations Landscaping Inc

We accepted Ben Seidl’s bid on our retaining wall and landscaping project. His project manager showed up at our house on November 1, 2022, collected our $11k deposit for the job, and promptly left. Ben and his scammer’s never showed up and dug one shovel of dirt (it’s been over a year). Oh we had lots of excuses when you could even get in contact with him. He responds to bad online reviews (there were many) and try’s to con people into thinking he is responding to the issues or that he is not at fault. All lies…. He steals money from seniors. He has shut down the company web pages now and removed the 2 bogus company addresses from google now. FB page is still up for now. I suspect he has declared bankruptcy and will be starting a new company under a different name to take advantage of others.

Louis was prompt with scoping the work and providing an estimate. He listened to our requests and concerns. Installation went smoothly and Ben spent time reviewing our maintenance questions. We had a landscaping project in 2022 done by Renovations Landscaping and Benjamin Seidl and it was the worst experience that we have ever had. We were completely duped by Benjamin Seidl and his project manager. He talked the talk at the interview but then hired a completely incompetent sub-contractor to do the “work”. There was one mistake after another (some of them could have been catastrophic as it was a fireplace install to our house), quality was poor, and challenges with getting him to return calls. A job that was supposed to take 2 weeks ended up going From May 9th to January of the following year. We now have dead trees that are under warranty and there is no response to phone calls or e-mail to warranty claims. In further research, it appears that he has several other business that are sure to be a scam as well: Western Enterprises Inc., Shineworx, WaveWash, Big Horn, Nearby Nature

DO NOT HIRE: RENOVATIONS LAANDSCAPING 11479 S. Pine #4 Parker Co. 80134 I searched for a landscape compaany to update my front and rear yard. I liked the design that Louis drew up. I decided to go with Renovation. ( Louis designs for other companies as well as Renovation. I was handed over to Donnie for the work. At first he and his crew were great. That all changed when the rear yard design had to be reworked. The initial design and the redesigned price were quite different.I couldn't get Donnie to break down the prices for either design. Other than the plant cost everything else was a completed price. No individual entries or explanation of what made up the cost. When I finally got an itimized cost, I disagreed with them. Everything I tried to get him to explain just didn't add up. The original design had a 12' sitting wall and the new design had a 16' sitting wall. The contractor and crew started the wall with cinder block. I asked what that was for and was told that's how it's done. I went to the paver store and picked out a free standing block wall that did not require what was being installed. The contractor said what was started would not work and he needed to tear down the cinder block and start over with the original material. Boy did I make a mistake in saying just finish what was started. This added nearly $4,000 dollars to my cost. The company ask for 50% down with 35% at the half-way point and the rest at completion. Completion to them means when they get a call from the contractor, not when the customer is satisfied. After getting ALL their money I noticed the paver patio was impoperly sloped and it took over a week to get them out. Also the top cap of the wall was not grouted at the joints. They were supposed to show up 2 different times. On the third time they showed up, but I could not watch over them to do the job right. I called the owner of the company, Ben, twice, left voicemails and sent him all the correspondence I had, via text, with Donnie. I texted Donnie about my dissapointment with the finished job and asked him to contact me. That was on Sunday July 16. Today is Friday July 21. No return call from the owner or his job superintendant. Hopefully if you read my rant you will stay away from Renovation Landscaping.

UPDATE 7/31/23- In answer to Ben's response below, he did email me and I have since responded. However, no one has ever come to my property for warranty purposes. His claim is false. It disappoints me that I had to leave the below review to get a response. I texted the subcontractor to check if he has been paid for the work he did on my patio. He has not. I stand by my original review. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!! I repeat, do not use Renovations Landscaping! I hired Ben to complete a stamped concrete patio in my back yard in November. They started right away and the patio looked wonderful initially, however a month in the cracks started showing up. I now have multiple cracks and fractures (through the entirety of the concrete slab) and Ben has not responded since March. I have given him multiple chances to make this right - probably too many. Additionally, he did not pay his sub contractor for the completed work and the poor man showed up at my door and left a note asking me to help him get paid. I tried unsuccessfully to help him. If you look at past reviews, lack of response and not paying contractors seems to be par for the course for Ben. I will seek legal action, as the only way to make this right (per another concrete contractor) is to take out the patio and lay a new one. I essentially threw away my money hiring this company.
