We brought our 2011 Jeep Wrangler to Parker 4x4. The original engine had 100,000 miles on it and after diagnosing, they informed us it needed a new engine. (We confirmed their findings with another shop.) Parker 4x4 installed a re-built engine based on their recommendation. They gave us a 3 year warranty. Fast forward 3 years and 4 months, we took it back to Parker 4x4. After a month of the Jeep sitting at their shop waiting to diagnose the issue, we were told we needed ANOTHER engine and it would not be covered under original warranty. We never expected the workmanship and quality to be so bad that we would have to replace the engine again with only $30,000 miles on it in just over 3 years. After this incident, we were told by several Jeep mechanics that the rebuilt engines are unreliable in these Jeeps and its best to put in a new engine. Unfortunately, Parker 4x4 neglected to provide us with that information. I would not recommend this company.

Short Version: AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!! Long Version: Last August, I took my 1978 CJ-5 to Parker 4x4 because they are claiming to be "experts" in jeep repairs and upgrades. I asked for a simple leaf spring replacement (stock for stock). After getting my jeep back (1 MONTH later...even though it should have been a couple day project), it was violently shaking. I immediately turned around and took it back. They tried a couple things at first (which took another couple trips and several more weeks) - which was nice. they were trying to solve the problem and I was working directly with the manager, Kerry. Things were great - he was nice, they were trying to resolve it. But none of their solutions seemed to work - I was still experiencing extreme driveline vibration, which I had never had before. Then things took a turn for the worse. They called me in, had the rear end opened up and told me that I needed a complete rear differential re-build, and wanted another $2,500 to do it. Something didn't feel right, so I kindly asked them to button it back up and I'll get another opinion. I drove it home (terrible drive), then eventually had to have it TOWED to another shop for a second opinion. That second shop immediately told me that the rear differential was FINE and this was a driveline angle problem because the new springs raised the Jeep. huh - that shouldn't happen with stock springs...so I called the manufacturer (Crown Automotive) with the part numbers. They told me the parts that were installed on my jeep were now the Heavy Duty Springs, which raise it by ~2"...just enough to mess up the driveline angle and cause vibration. Solution? Just needed a longer, custom driveshaft. But I had to pay the second shop to do it, as I didn't trust Parker 4x4 anymore. I contacted Kerry and he told me he would refund my money. Then all the sudden...he changed his mind after talking to Steve (the owner). I tried calling multiple times to speak with Steve directly, and he never returned my calls and never spoke to me once throughout this entire process. How do you run a business like that, where you've clearly got an upset customer that you have wronged and you won't even call them to make it right? So I had no choice...I filed a small claims court case to get the money back that I had to spend at the other shop to fix the problem Parker 4x4 caused. Then it took another turn for the worse. Their attorney got involved. After first trying to delay the court date to stall, then bullying me to drop the case, then bullying me again threatening to charge me HIS legal fees...he pointed to my RECEIPT that I had to sign to get my keys back...and they have snuck in a Dispute Resolution Clause...which requires third party arbitration....and they are considering that a "CONTRACT" that you have signed. They do this on the back end once they've done the work, and never make you aware of it upfront, which is terrible business and in my opinion, very manipulative. Doug Co courts ended up throwing out my case without even letting me reply! What a great legal system, huh? My only choice is to go to Arbitration...which I will do, and I have an easy case to get my money back...just more headache and time. I wish I never would have taken my vehicle here. I wish I never would have trusted the so called "jeep experts" who clearly couldn't resolve a simple driveline angle problem THEY caused. Any real 4x4 mechanics would have known exactly what to do. Conclusion: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. AND IF DO...DO NOT SIGN YOUR RECEIPTS AS IS - STRIKE OUT THE DISPUTE RESOLUTION CLAUSE AND GET YOUR KEYS BACK!!

If you have an uncertain level of trust with your current auto-repair shop, then stop going there and call these guys. Parker Four Wheel Drive is a top-notch operation that stands behind their work. These guys are honest and provide accurate information and great service. They always do the best they can to get you rolling again. Vehicles can be frustrating and no one likes a break down, but knowing these guys will take good care of it offers a little peace of mind. Thanking you for keeping me rolling. A long-time customer.
