Menu isn't huge but offers decent variety. Portion size and pricing are just right. Staff was excellent. Long wait during prime time but service was very quick.

Tonight was the first night Ive been back to The Saloon since the remodel/reopening. The new owners did a nice job preserving the historic and memorabilia feel. However, they did not preserve a lot of our favorites on the menu such as the chimichangas, enchiladas with jalapeo cream sauce, fried ice cream or even the complimentary chips and salsa. What we ordered wasnt bad, but didn't live up to our expectations/memories of The Saloon. The prices, relative to the portions were pretty disproportionate, even for the Vail Valley. Lastly, our server, Andrew, was really bad. Listening to other servers in the dining room, we may have drawn the short straw getting him, but again another disappointment this evening. I have been going to the Saloon with my family since I was 4 years old (1981). Sadly, tonight was probably our last, at least for a while.

The "new" Saloon is pricey; $10 for a good draft beer(!) and $14 for a margarita out of a tap(!!) Nachos and enchiladas are the best thing on the menu. Better value elsewhere in town but it seems that everyone wants to experience the remodel/new menu at least once. Nicest dining space in town but they make you pay for it Obligatory obituary to: formerly free chips & salsa, the bar food menu, chimichangas, and of course - quail! Parking: Park to the northwest in the municipal lot
