I paid $458(!) out of pocket to get a small chip on my front tooth fixed. The damage done due to carelessness(read review) will cost me $1,900 to repair. My experience with Dr Z was that he seemed impatient, bothered, careless and dismissive. I went in to get a filling for a small chip on the corner of my front tooth. He numbed the tooth, 'polished the tooth' and filled the small chip, then he went ahead and 'polished'(filed down) the whole edge of my tooth leaving the tooth shorter than the other front tooth and he filed too much down and it looks like he took some of the enamel off as there is a crack in the tooth that I can literally feel with my fingernail (the crack was already there, inside the tooth, but never was I able to feel it with my finger nail). I asked him about the crack, and he said, "oh you want me to polish it more"?. I immediately said no as this meant he was going to file my tooth down more. He also left the tooth more square(my front teeth are naturally big and a little more round than square). I noticed this after the procedure was done and had left the room. I asked the assistant if Dr Z could polish the other tooth a bit to make them look the same. The assistant came back and told me that Dr Z said that I was to fixated on it, to live with it, that it was easy to take off but not to add back on and if I decided to go back for a dental night guard(as if he was trying to bait me to go in for another procedure) and if I still wanted the other tooth polished he could do it then. Now, I have a shorter square-looking front tooth (the tooth he filled and 'polished') that is now cracked and sensitive, and the normal longer round front tooth. I went in to get my tooth filled to help restore my smile, make me feel better about myself and more confident about my smile, not to have my whole tooth filed down, made shorter and cracked, not to leave feeling sad, upset, and my self-esteem down. My smile looks so off with my tooth so short now and hardly ever smile now(I didn't go in and pay so much to have my tooth shortened). I wasn't expecting this at all as I did much research for the best holistic dentist that did cosmetic dental work and had read such good reviews about Dr Z and the dental office and really thought he would restore my tooth and smile by filling the small chip(instead he shortened my tooth significantly, changing the way my whole smile looks), a cosmetic dentist is supposed to fix your teeth and make you feel better about yourself not leave you feeling worse.

Wow. I just switched over it Studio Z for a more holistic dental experience, but what I didnt realize was how much this would elevate my overall dental experience. Its one of those situations where I didnt even realize how mediocre (at best) my previous dental care was until I experienced excellent care. Everyone was so thorough and walked me through all of my images and things to watch and put me in the driver seat. The dentist spent a significant time with me, which I have never experienced before. Typically the dentist is in and out and the majority of my time is spent with the hygienist. Im also glad I switched because a few things that are kind of serious have been overlooked my years by my previous dentist. Its definitely more of an investment because my insurance only covers a fraction of the preventive care here, but well worth every penny.

Google took this down and allowed her next one to stay a few days later. Please look at that review
