Please note this review is 10 years overdue. Even though I'm not one to write reviews, much less, negative ones, I feel very compelled to tell my story and warn others about this clinic. I was a patient of this clinic in 2002 after I found out I was pregnant with my first child. At 37 weeks, they told me my baby was breech and they were going to try to turn him, if unsuccessful, I was far enough along that they would perform a c-sec. They didn't give me an option for a vaginal birth due to risks associated with a breech baby. I understood and consented. My baby wouldn't turn, they proceeded with the c-sec. They gave me an epidural, took me to the op room and proceeded with the C-sec. They took my baby out, stitched me up and took me to the recovery room. Due to overdose in anesthetics, I felt sick and nauseous for more than 12 hours post-op, no bond time with my baby. During the procedure, I'd somehow contacted a uterine infection. I suffered intense pain for days even after I was discharged from the hospital. I came back for a check-up and told them about the pain, they gave me antibiotics and told me if it didn't do the trick, I'd have to come back for surgery. The antibiotics took care of it, I was fine after that. In 2004, I came back for OB care upon testing positive for my 2nd pregnancy. First question out of Dr. Cohen's mouth, "Do you want this baby?" I adamantly answered, "yes!" though figuring it was a strange question. I told him I wanted to try for a VBAC this time because I wanted to avoid going through that horrible c-sec experience again. He went on to look at my chart and noted that I had a c-sec do to breech, and no other reason, but still coerced me into getting another c-sec. I was very displeased that he wasn't listening, but what he said to me after that was the last straw to break the camel's back was, "I think you should do a c-sec. We can fix your scar and make it look so much better, you're never gonna get a job a Dandy Dan's with that scar." Note that Dandy Dan's is a strip club!! At 28, still naive, I knew that just didn't sound right. Thankfully,it was time to move, we sold our house in late 2004 and moved about 30 miles north so I sought a new OB. My new OB was supportive, she listened and encouraged me to try for VBAC. In 2005, I successfully delivered a beautiful healthy 7' 12oz baby boy via VBAC despite my small size, being only 5ft tall and weighing only 80lbs pre-pregnancy. Despite the hard, and long (25 hrs) labor, I enjoyed this birthing experience so much more than the first. Thinking back, I still couldn't believe the words out of Dr. Cohen's mouth!! Upon research, I discovered that the clinic performed abortions, they only stopped performing abortions as of Dec., 2015, but nonetheless, if you want a doctor that will listen and not harass you, don't go here!!
