I spoke on the phone with the owner to arrange my haircut. He was very kind, we bonded over fond memories of the East Coast. With the new cut, I feel my age. He was able to gently hide all cowlicks and didn't seem to mind. Will definitely be returning. I have found my hair stylist!

Unfortunately had to update my review because I spoke too soon on the last one. My first visit was great, he was nice and courteous, did a good job on my haircut so we decided that he was going to color my hair next time (over a month after because he was going to be out of town) so a couple of days before my scheduled appointment I call to make sure we're still on and sure enough, we were. On the day of I show up and he barely bothered to greet me, he was on hold taking a personal call which is fine, didn't take too long anyway but he was clearly mad that he had to do my hair?? What? We had scheduled this out OVER A MONTH in advance??  Not like I sprung it on him. He then proceeds to bleach my hair (we were getting some black dye out and going brown) he blasts super hot water on me and goes to town on my hair. Half ass bleaching here and there, then   proceeds to comb through my hair with bleach still in and YANKS at my hair, not even trying not to hurt me, matter of fact, I think he was trying to make it hurt as much as possible. When I say yank, I mean YANK as if bleach wasn't drying and damaging enough, I'm sure that messed up my hair that much more. Just throughout the entire time he was making it very clear he didn't want me there which baffles me because if you didn't want my business why book me?! He hardly even said a word to me in the 4+ hours I was there. As far as his job goes this time around, I understand that black hair dye is very hard to take out so I had a realistic expectation of how light we could go with the brown but wow, what a mess. He didn't apply any bleach to my roots so about two inches of my natural hair color, then on the rest of my hair, he did a really sloppy job, once we blow dried it, you can see different colors all throughout my hair so we decided to go for a darker color to "even" out my hair but when he applied the hair dye, he sloppily did that too. By the time we were done, my hair just looked like my natural brown hair indoors but had a light red undertone in the sun. He then went to cut my hair. I told him just a two inch trim and he cut a bunch off and made my hair straight at the bottom when I very clearly had a v shape before and I dont even think he touched my layers. At this point I was already extremely disappointed and 10 minutes away from my nail appointment because it took so long so  I didn't bother to thoroughly check my hair. Big mistake. I ended up missing my nail appointment anyway, but the next day when I was looking at my hair in the sunlight, I could see four different hair colors! Some patches were not bleached at all, some were JUST bleached with no brown dye, some were dyed and then my natural roots!!! WTF! He charged me $250 to yank at my hair with an attitude the entire time, absolutely destroy my hair, not only color-wise but now my hair is extremely dry and dead and now I'm gonna have to pay someone else to fix the cut and the hair color!! And my dumba$$ went ahead and gave him a $60 tip because I felt bad not tipping him well, as I live off tips too. I'm so upset. I've never had such a horrible experience getting my hair done and now I have to walk around looking like this until I can get his mess fixed somewhere else. If it's even fixable. I have a feeling only way to fix it now is to dye it black again, ironically. So I destroyed my hair and wallet for absolutely nothing. I no longer recommend this place as it seems as if he doesn't appreciate his PAYING customers. Just horrible
