Walmart Vision & Glasses

While Dr. John is great, we will not be returning to Walmart for our vision needs. Whoever they hired up front is as about as competent at a piece of toast. We ordered contacts over the phone, never heard back about our order, called to inquire 2 weeks later and the girl says, "oh I couldn't find your RX." We were just in there for an exam in November so our RX was current AND she didn't even think to call us to let us know there was a problem?!?! Dumb as a box of rocks. Hire people who actually want to work and maybe we will come back.

I have been going to Dr. John for 3 years. He is a great doctor and is very knowledgeable (I would rate him 5 stars). However, the other staff members are unbearable. It helps to have staff who are knowledgeable about insurance plans when it comes to contacts, glasses, and exams. This staff has no knowledge whatsoever. The past few years I have sat there for up to an hour as they try to figure things out. Several times they have told me it is an issue with my insurance, when it turns out in the end it is really just them not knowing what to do. Im really not in the practice of writing bad reviews, or reviews in general. But I just feel like I should warn other people about the staff members. Walmart is cheaper yes, but for me its not worth the huge headache and the lost time as they fumble their jobs. Go somewhere else where the people are kind, will pay attention to you, and are actually good at their jobs!

My son just got his glasses a week ago and they broke. The tiny screw came out. I called and asked if we could get the warranty since its only been a week and this happens so I'd rather be prepared. The girl said this was not possible as it had to be requested at time the glasses were paid for. I asked if they could help since we could not find the tiny screw. She said to take the glasses in and they would put another screw. When the glasses are brought in the lady there has an attitude as if she is doing a favor. When we pay over $300 and they don't even last a week noone should get questioned and definitely no attitude should be given. We have been clients of this optical for a while and my husband just became a client a few weeks ago and he too was not pleased as he was given an old beat up case for his new glasses and not even a cleaning cloth was given. He had to purchase the cloth. My son is the nicest person I know so he would never say anything but I hate when we are taken advantage of for being too nice. What we will do is just move on and away from rude/unprofessional treatment and find a new place for our future optical needs. Sad how are world is becoming.
