This was a horrible stay. Walked in, had to press the locate button on their phone to get someone to check us in. After a long wait we were briefly acknowledged before she went to the restroom and then in the back office. 5 minutes later we became her focus. Not sure that was a good thing. She seemed perturbed we had the audacity to want to check into our room. But, wait it gets worse. We get to our room and opened the door, the room smelled so bad of body odor it took my breathe away. I did some investigating. The smell was coming from the pillows. The room had been vacuumed half heartedly. Behind the door in the tub and toilet area was maybe swept 2 years ago. It looked like human waste had been smeared on the wall or maybe this had been a smoking room at one time and the nicotine stains had never been cleaned off the walls or ceiling. Paint much? Dropped my daughter off at Western for band rehearsal and decided to check out the hot tub. It was not very warm. 2 days staying in a smelly and dirty room I asked if we could get a late check out (My daughter needed a place to change for her concert at Western). I was met with the same hatefullness I received at checking in. 12 is the latest. Super! (NOT) That gives my daughter maybe 15 minutes to get ready. Thanks so much for accommodating your so called guest. The front desk people were nothing less than rude. The room was beyond nasty. The building in high need of maintenance. The pool area sub-par. I will say. Breakfast was great. The lady who provided breakfast was very friendly. Don't waste your money. There are plenty of other hotels in Gunnison. I stayed at the Holiday inn last time for my daughters Western tour, it was superb. A final note... I would have to make the assumption this hotel is "padding" their reviews. It is nothing like alot of other reviewers have described. You may ask why did you not ask for another room or new pillows. After the way we were treated by 99% of the people working here, I was afraid to. Things can always get worse.

Bad experience with the room we pre reserved which wasnt advertised correctly and the staff wasnt not accommodating or helpful with the situation.
