I recently moved to Greeley a few days ago, and decided to try Flamingo's as my first liquor store.
I went in with intent to purchase a 12 pack of Coors light, only to find the ONLY box of Coors on the shelf was a 24 pack (the whole store was severely understocked for the size of the building). I decided to buy it and forgo paying with cash as I'd planned (only had 17 bucks on me).
When I reached the register, I was greeted by a sign that said something along the lines of "Don't support stealing from local businesses, pay cash." Funnily enough, the store still offers a card swipe... so that's what I did, only to hear the fellow mutter under his breath as he swiped my card, something about supporting stealing.
Needless to say I won't be back, I'm sure there are other liquor stores with a FAR better selection, who are willing to sell you product with a smile no matter how you pay. It's not a wonder he can't keep his shelves full if he treats customers like that.
As an aside to the owner, who was probably the fellow who checked me out: Put your money where your mouth is and get rid of the card swipe. If you're worried that it will run you out of business, ask yourself what it is you're paying for with those fees then.
