image I saw Dr. Kareus because he specialized in DBS surgery that helps Parkinson patients get rid of their tremors. I gave him my 1,000+ pages of medical records regarding my heart failure and strokes yet told me to my face there was no reason to think I had resulting brain damage that would cause my tremors and movement issues and that it was all due to anxiety... I angrily took his word for it, it took ONE cat scan to show hypodensities in my Basal Ganglia (part of brain that controls movement and coordination) as a result of anoxic brain injury and ichemic stroke in my cerebellum...

image I have suffered multiple head injuries, memory and speech changes, sentence difficulties, confusion, general feelings of brain fog, migraines and many more neurological symptoms for over 20 years. I have seen a handful of different physicians over my life who made me feel as though I was crazy, and that my symptoms were "made up." It was frustrating and painful to feel like "I was fine," when actually, I was miserable, every day of my life. I finally got to the point where I just adapted to living that way, until I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Kareus. He has changed my quality of life so much and made it possible to function everyday. He took the time to listen to me and was thorough with all of my information. I read the reviews on this website, and they are so far from who he is as a human being and a doctor. He goes above and beyond to help others, and is always so empathetic. I feel blessed to have him as my physician. I also trust him, and believe that he would do anything he possibly could to help me. He continues to treat me with respect and dignity, and ensure that I have good care. I truly respect and appreciate him for that so much.

image Dr. Kareus saw my 25 year old son, who was suffering from a very rare autoimmune neuromuscular disease, while an inpatient. He was cold and disinterested because of a normal EEG. My son passed away 11/16/22. Since then, the NIH has been studying his case extensively, and may have recently discovered a cause. Dr. Kareus had no interest in theory, despite the other physicians involved. You couldn't pay me to see him. Maybe he should stick to his kilt and highland cattle.
