I became a BMO customer because Bank of The West became BMO. My family chose to use Bank of the west back in the 1980s because they were a small enough bank and were treated as such. The old bank of the west was a great bank. In 2023 Bank of the West became BMO. I would have never cose BMO as a bank.
I have direct deposit with my employer. With the bank of the west it took one day for my deposit to clear and money available. With BMO it takes two to three days.
I had 4 accounts with Bank of the west. There was no service charge for any of these accounts. With BMO they charge a service charge on some accounts and even though I have money on the account they still charged me a service charge and had to chase it down and spend time trying to get it back.
BMOs customer service is outsourced overseas. With all do respect, good luck trying to understand these people.
If you enjoy corporate America, join BMO. They are just another huge world bank. They have lost the home appeal. I will be getting a local bank and closing these accounts. I am pretty sure that most bank of the west customers feel the same way. Shame on you bank of the west and BMO.

BMO Bank is one of most complicated Bank I have ever dealt with. Not recommended for anyone over 65.

I'm always greeting by name as I enter the lobby. The group that work their are always friendly and helpful and quick to answer questions. I have business and personal accounts with this location and they have always taken good care of me.

My card declined at a gas station after work a couple hours earlier at a car wash and a restaurant. Ive been stuck at this gas station for 7 hours and cant get a customer service rep to answer the phone. If Im lucky theyll answer the phone today so I can go home
