        My experience has been excellent. I'm still going through loosing my brother, the build up of anxiety and depression each day and not understanding these deep emotions and feelings. I understand more and more about my upbringing, and my exclusion of the family. Very hard to face life.

        I received therapy and medication management via telehealth at Lifestance. My therapist was great and I would recommend the psychology and counseling service there. However, I would not recommend anyone to get medical management here. After trying about 5 medications in the last year when my long term SSRI stopped working for me, I made the hard decision to stop taking medication and try a more holistic approach. When I told my nurse practitioner this, she told me to stop cold turkey and that she would not need to see me again. I let her know I would be weaning myself off of this medication the next two months. And she took a note and gave me a link to have my records transferred. This is the most inappropriate and dangerous advice Ive ever received from a medical professional and Im grateful I have experience with medication and know to never quit cold turkey, especially with a medication that is altering the chemicals in your brain!! This was two months ago and now I am fully off my meds, and it was not easy, even with tapering off. Please advocate for yourself and do not listen to anyone who tells you you do not have to follow up with them or gives you a plan and resources.
