We have alway been blown away by the quality and level of detail that goes into these magical pastries! We drive down from Boulder just for these treats. The customer care while at the counter, no matter how long the line is, is top notch. Im also in a wheelchair and they are VERY accommodating and Im grateful to be seen just a an everyday customer. This means so much as a chair user! We love Black Box!! Wheelchair accessibility: Willing to accommodate any needs and there are tables that are open style seating.

Love that place! Very tasty pastries with cool flavor combinations, very friendly staff and perfect matcha latte. Be there super early to catch better variety.

This is probably not a fair review but this is the experience that I got. If I knew what to expect, I would have pre-ordered the items that I wanted to try or just passed on this place, but I came there two hours prior to the closing, and they were sold out of almost everything. People hardly get crazy over the items that they can get at any other place. I understand that weekends are busy but this is what you plan ahead for based on your demand? The weather was quite bad that day, and the market was not crowded but they still ran out of 90% of the items. The table display of the available items looked odd. The only seating available is in the aisle in the corridor, with many people walking around you. I didnt find it comfortable either, so I just ended up leaving. Staff was friendly, and it was the best part of my visit. I would have liked to be proven wrong and finally give a try to these pastries that I was coming there for, but so far, this is my experience.

Some of my favorite flavor duos are citrus and chocolate. I tried the mystery pastry which was dark chocolate and orange and something that was supposed to be a surprise, sadly thats exactly what it was, just chocolate and not enough orange flavor to off set the bitter dark chocolate. On to the highly anticipated strawberry lemonade pastry. First, I will say the flavor is supposed to be strawberry LEMONADE. Bit into it and got a huge squirt of strawberry. Once again, there was not enough tart lemon to balance, enhance, or offset the very sweet strawberry. It was also hard to eat because it didn't, wouldn't pull apart and only 2 bites with strawberry....at the beginning and at the end. The prices are high and the packageing is pretty but the line is looooong and the payoff is short. I'll keep looking and on occasion go back to the classic German bakery in old town Arvada.
