Choosing glasses became a bit of a trial because they didnt really have what I wanted in a new frame. We looked at what was available online and ordered my glasses. I had the optician adjust the fit of my current glasses and found out after I got home that what I thought was a smudge was in fact a very bad scratch on my lens, effectively ruining my current pair with f glasses.
When they had not called me at the 3 week mark to say my new glasses had arrived, I called them. I was informed that my glasses had arrived almost 2 weeks prior, and that when they attempted to call me they were unable to leave a message. I verified my phone number and that my voicemail was working and asked if they only called once. I was informed that was their policy. I personally believe they misdialed my number since I do not have a local area code even though it is similar.
The next day I went to pick up my glasses only to discover that the frame did not look like what I had viewed online. Apparently it looks quite different in person. Since I am leaving in less than a week to go out of town for almost a month, ordering another pair was not an option at this point. I asked for a refund, which they did give me without hesitation. I am going to either try to get a pair of same day glasses at a different store, or I will order from a place near my vacation destination.
Aside from the doctor visit, the overall experience was less than optimal.

Unfortunately, the individuals operating the business lack integrity. When I paid for my glasses, I was told my account was paid in full. The next day, I received a message that I somehow owed $185. When I followed up, without explanation, the amount they claimed that I owed was $200. This made no sense in regard to the payments I had already made and my insurance benefits (which they had info on for a couple months at that point). To clear things up, I requested a detailed statement to understand where the balance came from. I waited a couple weeks and when I still had not received the requested document, I had to call in...again. Finally, the document arrived and all of a sudden, by High Optical's calculations, they owed me $44, but, interestingly, they didn't include a check to pay me back. So, I had to call in... again, and again, was told they had no one on site to help me (this happened every time I called in). I was again assured I would receive a call back to confirm the check was being sent and the address was correct. A few days later, there was no call back and I called them back only to hear the same old, broken down excuses. No one on site who could speak to this, they may or may not have sent me the money they owed me and had no idea when it would be handled.
At no point in this process was I apologized to for the misinformation, for the poor business practices or for the overcharge, but instead was constantly given extensive run arounds by a rude woman named Emma.
This is a shady and disingenuous way to run a business and there are many other eye docs in Durango/Farmington. I am disappointed to have chosen them and I would recommend finding someone else so you can avoid this type of sketchy and wholly unnecessary experience.
Sad.
If I do not receive my money in the next few days, I will initiate a charge back due to fraud.
