My teen did the month-long Spanish immersion program with CGI.  What an amazing and positive experience he had.  The communication with CGI staff is truly exceptional, and it quickly enabled me to feel very comfortable knowing my child would be in their capable and caring hands.

I'm the type of person who can find something to criticize and something to praise at just about any time. I have only praise for the Common Ground Immersion experience. This program is well-honed and beautifully designed to cater to each person's needs. I spent two weeks with them in Costa Rica, and my language skills grew by leaps and bounds. I can now use past tense and future tense without too much trouble, and I can "hear" the language much better in every day speech. The staff is top-notch, friendly but professional and definitely knowledgeable about the language and the country. I highly recommend this company and their immersion programs.

I was fortunate enough to have exposure to the healthcare workplace here in Colorado, and I have seen how great an impact knowing and using any amount of Spanish has in establishing a positive relationship with a patient. As a student in one of the best (and busiest) Physician Assistant programs in the country, the thought of adding a language elective onto an already demanding schedule was daunting.  However, CGI has been a great program, and a part of my schedule that I look forward to every week.  Rory and Leslie are both great instructors who are very engaging and encouraging.  Their curriculum rapidly builds your confidence in employing Spanish in the clinic.  I was confident enough to use Spanish during several patient encounters in clinic after my 1st semester with CGI!  They use a variety of learning techniques that are a welcome change from the monotony of powerpoint lectures.  I highly encourage taking their classes so that you can have better interactions with your Spanish-speaking patients.
