    I wish I could give Ricky more than 5 stars! Ricky Schoonover is positively stellar at what he does, and Id love to share some of the reasons why I will never use anyone else for my future real estate transactions. I realize this is a very long post, I actually wanted to write even more LOL. We had been considering selling our home for quite some time, but for a variety of reasons never moved forward or selected an agent. And although we loved our home, there were significant challenges to overcome & cosmetic improvements to make prior to putting it up for sale. I had recently become a casual listener of Rickys podcast Denver Homes Market Report, and on a whim reached out to him through his website but soon forgot about it. A few days later he stealthily dropped off a home market assessment bound inside a beautiful notebook, and proceeded to change everything. He was unfazed when we shared the weighty challenges we faced (which included foundation issues that had to be resolved), our long list of must-haves for our next home, and that selling our home was contingent on having enough remaining funds to improve our current living situation in a new home. From our first meeting he was all-in, and throughout proved his commitment without question. We never felt pressured and he was always positive. From beginning to end he maintained his professionalism while remaining friendly and was encouraging while staying forthright and honest. The two of us never realized the strategy & planning required to be successful in buying/selling real estate, but Rickys skill at both exposed how deficient our past Brokers or Broker Associates were, and how little they did to protect us or have our best interest in mind. They simply could not compare. Following is just a partial list that demonstrates Rickys superior service and his willingness and desire to help. He works with just a few clients at a time -- no more than four -- so he can devote his time and attention to your needs. He showed up time after time to help us move heavy furniture and other items, even helping us make trips to our storage unit as we prepared to sell. He lent his expertise and vast knowledge as we prepared inside and outside our home for the photos. He kept in contact with us, guiding us, helping us, supporting us, without being overly intrusive. For every step during the sale of our home and buying the new one, we had great struggles to overcome. Most challenges came to light in layers, like the peeling of an onion. But every time, Ricky remained positive and always had a plan as well as a backup plan (and sometimes a backup backup plan!) to keep us moving forward. His negotiation and strategic planning skills paid off for us, literally. With his zero-pressure approach and incredibly positive outlook, Ricky helped us visualize a future of successfully selling our and buying our homes. Instead of camouflaging or misrepresenting flaws of an older home, he focused on the positive aspects that he knew would help buyers see what our home had to offer. When it seemed like we would never find a suitable home before we had to be out of our old home, and we'd never be able to outbid others shopping in the same market, his offensive strategy ended up winning the day for us. He reached out to the agent of a home we had previously looked at just to put out feelers. This agent reached back out the next day, and this ended up being the home we bought! The day we closed on the sale of our house Ricky provided a wonderful celebration at Mode Realty with champagne and donuts to congratulate us! While numerous ongoing updates are occurring at our new home, Ricky continues to check in, giving encouragement and even stopping by to see the progress. True to form, he continues to help us by encouraging our contractors to keep things moving forward whenever the project is in danger of losing steam. A major part of why I love practicing Real Estate are building those relationships, heading out to a festival together, grabbing a beer and a hotdog at the baseball game, or hosting an event and inviting you and other clients to attend. All too often when faced with the situation of losing loved ones and then being charged with managing their assets. The memories and emotions that are bound to well up with trying to sell a home you once lived in as a child. It's too much for so many to deal with. Then of course the barage of those coming at you and simply wanting you to sell them the home without first properly marketing the home to the open market. These schemes can seem like the quick and easy way out. However, more often than not, when emotions get the better of someone, they end up losing out on an investment your loved ones worked so hard to provide for you and your family's futures. I didn't expect you to have to take so much time from your day to share your experience. However, I'm so grateful for you and Jana both. We had some ups and some downs and you both stayed focused even when staying focused was not easy. I thank you for your trust, your drive and your focus. From Loveland to the springs and from the front range to Aurora, We finally found "the one". We absolutely debunked the common theory. "We pretty much work from home so we can live anywhere" There is much more to that thought process when it comes to where you call home. Friends, family, local connections, community, shopping, etc... all so important and dare I say more important than the fact you can work remotely. I'm glad we landed where we did and I hope you'll venture over to Cherry Creek State Park. Gracie and Jdango are going to love it. Jana, What an amazing review. Thank you. I mean from a random post on a social media site. I post and boost these "what's my home worth?" type ads often. I usually don't get too much from them, maybe someone offering to guest write on my web site, Spam for the most part. Actually when your message came to me. I had an address, that is IT. I wasn't even going to bother doing the research as to who you might be. My husband Victor says, "That's not right, Ricky that's not you. You do the work, you determine the value, you create a binder for these owners." I replied: "Yea, well, I don't even know their name" Victor: So? when has that stopped you? you have access... do the work and if you don't have an e-mail or phone... do what you do... drive it to their house and hand them a valuation of their home. - That is what you do.. so just do it...Honestly, his encouragement when I had just driven and handed out more valuations than I care to count with ZERO response..I took his advice, I spent the morning researching the home, the sales history, the layout, the lot size, what the neighbors sold for, etc.. and I created the best valuation based off the information I could research... and I brought the binder..The rest is history.. you and Cindi were a dream to work with. I truly appreciate you and will never forget our journey which was longer than any of us wanted, but I wouldn't trade it. It's easy to be a good agent when everything just falls into place.. Good is the enemy of Great. When things maybe don't go exactly as planned and the home needs more work than we first anticipated.. When a deal blows up and we, piece by piece build another, better stronger deal... that is GREAT! I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
