Had our house painted a few years ago with promise of warranty. Paint is already pealing in several spots. No one one answers phone or returns messages. I have been calling for over a month. I have emailed but the email does not go through. Either this company is out of business or gone drastically down hill. I would go elsewhere for painting needs. Service: Exterior painting

I give Homestar an A++++ rating. I have built out over a million square feet of space in my work career and never had painters that did a better job than Al and Michaels crew. There lines are precise, they are efficient and careful of your belongings. I was proud to have them in my home and I know you would too. It didnt hurt that they are very price competitive. Services: Water damage repair, Cabinet painting, Interior painting

I posted my honest review related to my experience with Homestar. A couple days later I received this text message threatening legal action against me. To avoid further conflict, I removed my post, even though it felt unethical to me.
I was skeptical of all the 5 star reviews this company has and now I think I know why.
I would recommend proceeding with caution.

I had estimates from three painting companies. Two were finalists. I chose Homestar Painting because while both finalist companies were detailed in their bidding, Michael was very precise and forthright in answering our questions, and his pricing was competitive and fair. I've worked with enough contractors to know that set backs happen. It is not unusual. My painting was delayed by a week, but because I had landscapers coming at the end of the week when Homestar was to start painting, Al, the owner and lead painter, and another crew member came out on a Sunday afternoon to power wash the house so that they would be able to finish in the time designated. That was truly impressive. The crew, led by Al, was wonderful to work with. They were extremely thorough, careful and efficient with their painting. Aside from the beautiful paint job, I could not tell they had been at my home when their clean-up was finished. Questions I had for Michael during the painting were answered quickly and satisfactorily. In fact, Michael is one of the easiest and best contractors I have every worked with, and I have worked with quite a few. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Homestar Painting for your consideration. Service: Exterior painting

We used Homestar a few years ago for a large interior painting project in our previous home and were thrilled with the quality of work. Which is why it seemed like a no brainer to use them again when we purchased a new home. The beginning of the process went fairly smoothly, the project started on time, and we were excited that we were finally going to like the paint in our home. What followed those first couple of days was a disaster. The quality of work was disappointing compared to the first time we used them. They painted ceilings semi gloss and trim flat. They used eggshell to touch up flat paint. The cutting on the ceiling and trim was a mess. Trim and doors that were supposed to be painted werent. After recognizing these problems, we contacted them to come back and fix them. 3 days of touch ups later, and there are still too many problems to count. We paid over $5k and it was absolutely not worth it. I know businesses are struggling to employ quality workers right now but we would have been better off doing this ourselves at this point considering how much we have to fix anyways. Additionally, the project manager said he would come by our home to verify everything was fixed before the crew called it good and never reached out. A few years ago, I wouldve said that Homestar was the painting business to use. But now, proceed with caution. Consider hiring another more expensive company or doing it yourself. Youll save yourself money in the long run and a huge headache as well. We still have the majority of our home to paint still and will certainly be taking our business and money elsewhere.
