image Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking continues to grow its impact in Colorado. Thousands of health care and system involved youth professionals have been educated on how to spot potential trafficking, hundreds of human rights leaders have been trained, thousands of hotline calls have been referred to over 300 vetted resources and the third Colorado Project research report will be published in 2023. Impressive. I'm proud to be a part of this Board working to end human trafficking.

image The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking is a fantastic organization. They provide resources to community members, victims, and survivors, and I feel that their support significantly impacts the larger community. Their mission and values are great, and I love how they strive to eradicate human trafficking. They have brought awareness to a situation that is often overlooked. Their advocates, managers, and entire staff are compassionate, caring, and genuinely focused on serving marginalized and under-served individuals.

image I had the privilege of participating in LCHT's leadership development program, giving me unique insight into the work the team does to combat human trafficking. They partner with a wide variety of institutions to enhance awareness about trafficking as well as the nuance that can be involved in each case. LCHT is dedicated to being trauma informed in their work, which has assisted in the profound impact they have made in Colorado's fight to end human trafficking. Working with LCHT was an honor. Colorado is fortunate to have such an excellent non-profit working toward a more equitable and safe future for all.

image LCHTs collaborative work engages a vast community of diverse and passionate professionals working together to solve a complex problem and finding ways to protect the vulnerable from exploitation. I entered the LCHT internship program to learn more about how law enforcement can be better leveraged to identify survivors and bring traffickers to justice. Social change initiatives spear-headed by the collaborative community-based work of groups like LCHT are key components to dis-empowering traffickers, removing their opportunities, and exposing their activities. We all can do our part to affect change, beginning with educating ourselves about what trafficking is, how it happens, and what we can do to stop it. My work with LCHT has been instrumental in my education about this systemic issue.
