The Desk

In contrast to the previous review - The music here is ambient. It is a bit loud - but I find that it motivates me. Any quieter and I may be distracted by other patrons. The spaces are clean, great marble table tops. Clean lines in design and architecture - and the rug in the main front room is reminiscent of my grandparents study. It has quickly become one of my favorite spaces to work from in Denver. Beverage selection is great - with local beer, coffee, Red Bull and my favorite Blood Orange San Pellegrino. You can rent more private work space in the back - and private areas for VCs and conference calls. Monthly memberships are too pricy for me - but I can imagine well worth it for those who could expense it. Tip: There is 25% off Monthly Membership during August -- get in before time runs out.

This place place plays very shrill, loud pop & dubstep music. This conflicts with their stated mission to serve as a workspace. It's tough to read, write and think with that noise blaring, guys. Turn down the volume and play better music. Also, it's worth noting that prices here are 25%-35% higher than the same items at other independent coffee shops. Why the sky-high prices, guys?

This is honestly one of my favorite places to get work done although I can't see how this business model can sustain. Great fast internet with awesome coffee, beer, sandwiches. You can sit here all day and work with little to no distraction. The private areas in the back are great, but I can't imagine a reason to use them unless the front is full.
