I don't recommend this place at all. The only good memories I have of this place was the patients, who went through hell and back ; and were with me every step of the way. I can't say much for the staff. Psychiatrists and therapists don't even know the day and night staff who monitor all the patients on the unit. They are totally unaware of the staffs abusive behavior towards the children; staff on the unit violated my privacy when it wasn't necessary and gossiped about it, for some reason they thought they had the right to go through my personal journal given to me by a family member and told me that if I didn't rip out the pages I wouldn't be able to have it back. I felt violated and Contaminated by the staffs invasion of privacy. Half the time when I asked to use the bathroom for peeing not acting on any urges they would say no un until I cried and begged them bc I was in so much pain .They restricted water in a naturally dry, high altitude climate so I lost all my thirst cues bc my body had to get used to the fact that I would only get only 16oz a day. Next, I had Food sensitivity and allergy issues, as well as many other patients, we're force fed foods that would hurt us and our body's into shock.they forced a peanut containing products, which she was allergic to peanuts. when she refused to eat it she was punished. The nurses some staff would also take their anger out on patients when they were having a bad day. but they what they didn't realize was that none of us ever had a good day. they would yell at us , blame us, and take their anger out on us, when they got to go home to their comfort, While we were left to "Sit with the discomfort". So no this place isn't anyway helpful. This place has given me trauma, ptsd and I will never forget the harm this place has caused me.

This location is terrible. They treat their patients like prisoners and now they are paying people on here to give 5 star reviews to trick people into coming here. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. They only respond to the positive comments but they dont do ANYTHING if you had a bad experience. Sending your loved ones here just puts them at risk for more things to deal with and puts them at risk for illness since they dont care if you get the right medication and they make you eat off the ground.

I am an outpatient treatment provider with over 15 years experience specializing in eating disorders. I have not only recommended ERC Denver to clients but have personally taken a friend in need of treatment there as well.

I've worked for ERC for approximately 5 years and I've loved being part of this organization. I do believe that we offer the best care for some of the most complex eating disorder cases and show compassion and understanding to our clients and their family members going through what could be the most challenging time in their lives.
