This facility is one of the few that also helps 30+ age group and takes clients with G-tubes due to severe malnutrition due to eating disorders. It would have helped my condition immensely.but they will not accept Medicaid. When youre at the severity of needing feeding tubes just to livehow can you work enough to receive insurance? So disheartening

Acute is an amazing place with the best providers who truly care about each patient. The treatment is individualized to fit your needs, rather than a "one size fits all" approach that other places have. I can honestly say that I would not be as far in my recovery without Acute.

They provided really good care, but used my friend's honesty about his suicidality to force (against his will) a transfer to Eating Recovering Center Denver because they said he needed a "more social" place - nevermind he was the only male, and needed nutritional support because of a disease, so not truly benefitting from eating disorder group therapy. It was alienating and nurses were abusive. He had been ok at ACUTE. They gave him hope. ERC abused him so badly his family brought him home 3 weeks in. He died from suicide three days later. It is not all on them, it never is, but I believe he would have lived if ACUTE had allowed him to stay there - ERC is dangerously understaffed, under-empathizing location. He (literally) had a different psychiatrist from Week 1 to Week 2 because the turnover was so high. They skipped his meds for a day because their pharmacy didn't deliver on Sundays. He trusted ACUTE and they referred him to a place where he was tortured the last weeks of his life. I wish he were here. I hope every person at ERC goes to hell. Additionally: ACUTE told him they had filed paperwork with a court to take away his legal autonomy and force him to go to ERC, but they didn't do it. So if they do it to you, make them show you the order from the judge.

My mom called them and they basically said my bmi is high so they cant help me. That was in november. My eating disorder is getting worse and worse and Im still not sick enough for them to see me. This is the only place that takes my insurance so they were my last hope.
