Janel is a miracle worker. I had chronic pain for 2 years from a running injury. I saw many doctors and PTs with limited improvement. Janel has me feeling so much better, helped me understand what's causing it, and how to correct it. She helped me with deep tissue massage and correcting my body alignment. The method is intense but the results are undeniable. I am finally get back to a normal life thanks to Bodywork!

As an avid runner I have depended on Janel for years to keep me injury free and to work on my occasional trouble spots. But thanks to her Ive been relatively trouble free! Love her location near City Park. Shes got great advice and a deep understanding of how the body works. So glad we (cause my husband sees her too) found her all those years ago.

Around 8 years ago I began to experience fairly consistent pain in the right side of my lower back. At times I couldnt sit with any comfort. I remember a car trip when I had to buy bags of ice to put on my back. I had had milder back pain for several years but this was noticeably worse. I went to a couple of chiropractors but the relief I got was only temporary. I also tried pilates, acupuncture, and a couple of massage therapists to no avail. My GP referred me to a back surgeon. Over the next year or so I had numerous tests including MRIs, epidurals and something involving electric current. The general conclusion seemed to be that my problem was muscular and couldnt be helped thru surgery. Eventually I was referred Body Works by an MD who was performing some of the tests.
I contacted Janell and began therapy with her. She concluded that the problem was some displacement of bones in my hip, likely the result of trauma long ago such as from a sports accident. I got some relief immediately but the discomfort persisted. Janell said that my muscles needed to be retrained so that the bones would go back to their original position permanently. Gradually my condition improved over several years of regular sessions. Now I feel pretty good most of the time and am able to hike and workout at the gym. I still have occasional discomfort and am seeing her but I continue to improve. I would recommend that any one suffering persistent muscular discomfort consider Body Works. Janell focusses on the underlying problem. She wont cure you problem overnight but if you are patient it is very likely that things will get better. I have recommended her to my son and to a friend, both of whom reported improvement and confidence of further gains in the future.
