    A hostage customer Having been a (small business) corporate customer for around 7 years, adjusting services along the way to accommodate growing needs we decided to switch when Integra was no longer competitive in products or services. Then the fun started. After several weeks of comparing services and products from several vendor's we decided to switch to a more competitive supplier. This all took place PRIOR to the term of our contract, and Integra was made aware that we may be switching providers if we found a better product. After locating and switching to a better service I called to disconnect the Integra service. I was informed that I did not call on the contracted day to dis-connect that the company had signed 3 years earlier. (the contract extension was not signed, it was a continuance of the prior contract, which stated that the contract extension was open ended after the expiration of the second term) I was now held hostage to an additional 3 years at the contracted rate or could pay an early termination fee, of the entire balance of the contract! After some back and forth on contract negotiations to reduce this hostage situation Integra removed their equipment, so continued service was not even possible! (this was 5 months into this hostage situation, which I was a paying customer the entire time, not wanting to deal with another situation involving collections because it was apparent that Integra would go to drastic measures to hold unwilling customers hostage) After another month of not even having a modem, (that I had previously purchased, and Integra removed) to utilize internet services Integra installed the replacement modem and re-connected services. Then another thing happened on install, apparently the lines Integra was using to supply services were only working at 1/2 capacity and they needed to create a work order to have someone else look into it. It is supposed to take a couple of days, but this being a Friday I assume that that couple of additional days will be AFTER the forthcoming weekend. This is Customer Service at it's finest, and I have to deal with it for a few more years until they release this hostage. And in case Integra fails to see my request for service dis-connect prior to the terms I am currently locked into, please accept this notice to dis-connect me on the very first available date this current term ends.

    Very deceitful company. We have had nothing but poor service and/or no service. We asked to cancel one business service we had with them and they signed us up for another 3 year contract. I would never recommend them for any phone service.

    If I could leave 0 stars I would...Integra/Allstream is AWFUL! Not only is their service spotty, but when we went through the process of cancelling for a better service provider, they told us that we would need to pay a full months worth of service charges, AND a $25 cancellation fee...When I asked why there was no communication about this on their end when we canceled service, their response was simply that it was their policy (no comment about no communicating). TERRIBLE customer service and BAD service.

    Unreliable, horribly slow Internet service. You don't get what you pay for with Integra. Do not use this company. I'm an IT manager and we have 40 stores in 4 states and Integra is by far the worst and slowest Internet service I deal with.
