image Wow, a lot of bad reviews recently, many from former employees. My father has been in independent living here for several years and he still likes it. There have been MANY challenges related to staffing and required isolation due to COVID-19. It hasn't all gone perfectly, of course. Bill, the dining room manager is super personable and is trying to get the country-club feel of the dining room experience back post-pandemic. It is a beautiful space. The price has increased quite a bit since he moved in. Perhaps the price is fair for the market but until we look elsewhere, I can't evaluate that. My dad loves the staff here. They love him. So do I. He's staying for awhile longer, I expect.

image This is a horrible place. I worked there. The staff and management are more concerned about money and profit than the people who live and work there. Staff turnover is huge and pay is way below industry standards. The food is poorly prepared and expenses extremely limited. "Food" is almost always served after sitting out for up to 2 hours and not at safe temperatures. They use a lot of MSG, or other ingredients that tend to cause GI and digestive problems. After eating it I always had gas and/or diarrhea. The health department has issued several warnings for health code violations. I would never live there or allow a loved one to stay there.
You might also note the canned responses they give to their reviewers.

image This place is Horrible. My Father has been in their care since Feb 2021. They are understaffed. Do not have the ability to treat patience with Memory loss. They kicked my Father out on Sat. No warning over the labor day weekend.. Then the Doctor (Preffered Providers) their in house network. Would not give me the release to allow him to get into another place. So we are now at St. JOSEPH. In much better hands/care.
FYI: the administered drugs without permission. Twice. Pretty amazing was $7K can buy such such poor care.

image If you intend to kill them, choose a more humane place than this to do it.
They were charging my grandfather $15,000 a MONTH for the following:
-NOT giving him showers
-NOT cleaning his room. Although, clean OUT his room was a regular practice. 2 wheelchairs, a walker, slider board, 6 w/c seat cushions, 2 rings, 1 cordless phone (they put the cradle on the top shelf of the closet and said my bed ridden grandfather put it there? That's just a little of the list.
-RARELY bringing his meals. They brought them alright, and left them in the other room. (incentive to get out of bed I guess.)
-40 days into COVID, my grandfather tested positive. That was after 40 days of quarantine.
-Sent to ER 11 times after they pulled his cath and couldn't get a new one in.
-We just got him transferred to a place in Arvada. They 'forgot' to send his meds with him, so we had to drive the 20 miles to get them, and another 15 to take them to him. THEN they called again. They forgot to send his dentures too.
-I didn't answer the phone the THIRD TIME. They posted an emploPlace them somewhere else. ANYWHERE ELSE. Just not a Brookale facinily
