Brooks LTD

I spent this summer working as Brooks intern. Going into it, I had open expectations for what the experience would give me, but I truly never could have imagined up the thoroughly immersive and formative experience that our time together was. Since I met Brooks in March, Ive looked up to her straightforward, discerning demeanor which demands authentic respect. At the same time, there is an alluring warmness about her. These attributes translate to her bold yet fluid apparel design; she knows what she likes yet prioritizes the user experience. This quickly became clear to me after listening to her speak about the way she views her work, as well as after pleasurably comprehensive exposure to the range of tastes Brooks has tackled in clothing since she began designing in the 1970s (the best of which she has archived in her atelier downtown Denver). Brooks taught me invaluable lessons about successful apparel construction and design, the art of ironing, fabric assessment and sourcing. I also learned a great deal of life lessons from her wisdom and through watching the ways she interacts in the world. I consider myself lucky to have spent the summer with Brooks, it was an experience that I know will continue to learn from for years to come. Brooks is timely, professional and truly passionate about the work she does. I highly recommend collaborating with Brooks in any way, shape or form. I would go as far to say that Brooks is a visionary someone to be revered and remembered for her impact on the Denver fashion scene and beyond. Service: Alterations

Brooks is a terrific designer. She made me a jacket for my son's wedding and it was beautiful and so creative. It was perfect!

I'm a fiber artist and have long admired Brook's work. I knew when I asked her to create a one-of-a-kind piece incorporating my own artwork that she would do something amazing; something special that I could wear to opening and special events. I'm so thrilled with my new jacket that I've asked for 2 more pieces.

I met Brooks through her work with Sue Miller Day of Caring Fashion Show fundraiser in early 2017. I was chosen as a model for the event and was flattered to also be selected to wear a dress designed by Brooks. The fitting process was a new experience for me and Brooks put me at ease as she took time to get to know me before suggesting one of her designs. She worked her magic and the dress was a perfect fit! The color, style and fabric reflected my personality while complimenting my features. Brooks was a delight to work with and I would recommend her highly.
