I have hybrid dentures which Dr. Foley did for me. In 2019, a piece broke off the upper hybrid denture. I went back to him to see if he could repair it. He removed it and sent it to his lab for repair. When he received it back and put it back in my mouth, he apparently put a retention wire in which supposedly provides strength to the upper denture per the guy at his lab. It felt tighter on my jaw but I tried to make do. It did not get to feeling better. Earlier this year it started giving me great difficulty in speaking, especially in doing my job. I stammered a great deal in speaking. Because of this, I quit my job and retired early. It now feels extremely tight on my upper jaw and is very uncomfortable. Last year, he suggested a new hybrid denture for about $8,000. He told me earlier this year that he cannot remove the retention wire, as it is intertwined around the implant abutments. So which is it? Do I need a new hybrid denture or he cannot remove the retention wire and why can the retention wire not be removed or perhaps cut off if it is too tightly wrapped to remove? He put this thing in my mouth (retention wire) which disturbs me greatly. I have tried to discuss this with him several times over the past couple of years with no relief and I feel little caring from him regarding this. I feel like killing myself because of this. Why should I pay so much money to fix this situation which he seems to have caused? This seems to me to be a situation I should discuss with an attorney regarding a malpractice suit.
