I am student of the sterile processing program. There are some flaws in which have affected my learning while attending Pima institute. The lab is outdated with many machines not working. Many of our instruments and materials always seem to disappear. We share the room with other students whom are not in my class. These students are loud during quizzes and dont share the room with us. One of the requirements was to buy edition 9 book for the course but this whole course is based on edition 8 which was a total waste of money. Though there are many flaws I was lucky to end up having Miss Tammika as a teacher. She has always helped her students fully understand the course and find them jobs. Miss Tammika is responsible for hospitals knowing how qualified Pima students are due to her great teaching. She has been improving the program since day one.

I completed the sterile processing technician program last week, with Ms. Tammika being the instructor. It was difficult at times trying to learn from outdated test, books, and lab equipment, and constantly getting interrupted from other staff members always checking on Ms. Tammika? Or us? They would stand outside our class eavesdropping, it made my classmates and my self feel uncomfortable and distracted. I believe Ms. Tammika, was the only reason all of us were able to learn from the program and understand everything better. Ms. Tammika also did amazing at finding us all sites right away for our externship. With most of the class getting job offers within the first two weeks of externship. The other instructor I had was Ms. Tiajah, she was my first instructor for career prep, she also was a wonderful instructor that made learning very easy.

Taking the CNA class with Chrysta was a wonderful experience. She was an awesome teacher, and made us all in the class feel supported. I recommend anyone who is unsure of what career they want to explore to start here.

Chrysta Romero is the best instructor Ive ever had the pleasure of being a student for. I never have to worry about not having a question answered clearly, not receiving help when I need it, etc. chrysta not only did she make herself clear each time she was instructing, she made sure that everyone understood what she was saying, she repeatedly asked each of us if we throughly understood and answered any questions we all had. She made the class fun was well. She made going to school fun. She made the thought of having to go to school turn into I get to go to school. Some instructors make asking them questions unbearable, some are intimating but Chrysta is far from that type of person. We absolutely loved her. I am extremely lucky to have had her. Youre a very fortunate student if you get Chrysta!
