I have been using Gretchen Koehler & Associates, for all of my business and personal accounting needs over the past 7 years. I highly recommend her and her team to anyone. I have even relocated and still insist on only using Gretchen for all my accounting needs both personal and business. I have consulted with others and she is the only one I trust to get the best possible job done every time. On a personal note, I've never met a nicer accountant, she is a sweetheart.

Where do I begin? We met with Gretchen back in March so she could help us do our taxes for our small business we started last year. It took her and her team 5 months to complete our taxes. During this time, one of her assistants would send us emails asking for more information to help them complete our returns. 9/10 emails we received from her was a complete waste of time. She kept asking us for information that we had already given Gretchen or already emailed them prior. This same assistant (Mary) also went into our QuickBooks account, deleted one of our invoices that we made last year for a customer, created her own invoice (and did it incorrectly) and then left it there without letting anyone know what she did. Which then brought up errors on our end in our account which caused panic because we didn't know what happened. The entire 5 months that we had to wait for our returns to be completed, I had to send Gretchen and her team an email at least every 2 weeks asking for an update because they were HORRIBLE at communication. We were always given excuses of them being understaffed, the whole office had covid and was out for a week, jury duty, etc. Once our returns were finally complete and we received our invoice from their company, Gretchen ended up charging us extra because she claims the reason it took 5 months was due to US not communicating with her and giving her the info they needed. I have email receipts from all the times I had to email them asking for updates, all the times we gave them info they requested, etc. We then sent her an email and asked her why she was charging us so much because we didn't think it was fair and definitely not the amount she had originally told us back in March (keep in mind, there was never a contract or form that we had to sign when we met with her that showed we agreed to pay for anything. It was just a verbal agreement which we found odd). The email response we got back from Gretchen was not a friendly reply at all. At the end of the email, she typed in all caps to basically show that she was yelling at us. We then sent her copies of ALL the email receipts we had to prove that what she was claiming against us was completely false and made up. She never said anything about those email receipts, but did drop the extra charges once we told her we would not be paying her extra for taking 5 months to do her job. Bottom line, do not waste your time with this business. They were extremely unprofessional and rude and we are so disappointed that we put our trust in her. We are so excited to find a different CPA next year to help with our small business taxes.
