When at Desert Social, you wouldnt think youre along the S. Broadway corridor of Denver. Its like Marrakesh meets the Mediterranean. Sedona meets the Sahara. The menu is vast and the drinks get a stamp of approval.

Weve supported Adelitas, La Doa, Chupaflor, Ni Tuyo & Desert Social since the inception of these family owned & run businesses. We truly love mezcal and authentic Mexican cuisine. Bummed to write a less than 5 star review for Desert Social, but our recent visit was less than stellar (and no reply from management in my private email to address). When we visited a couple of weeks ago the service was subpar and lukewarm friendly. The cocktail waitresses only do a cursory stop by the table, we were given the wrong drinks, and when I got the correct drink it was legit 90% ice cubes. The place also looked like it hadnt been cleaned from the night before. We arrived one hour after opening for the day and there were numerous spilled drink stains & dirt on the floor and crumbs on the tables where we sat which was off putting. Hoping to return at some point, not until service & quality improve.

Just a heads-up about Desert Socials offerings. Asked Can you do an espresso martini? No problem. Theres something on the menu called Adelitas Espresso de Olla on the menu that is rum-based with coffee liqueur. Drink came out, it was the latter. Asked about it and the waitress said, Oh I thought you knew. Asked, again, if they can make an espresso martini. She then goes, Oh, yeah, actually we cant. We can add vodka to the coffee liqueur. No thanks. No refund. Unapologetic. Otherwise, cool vibe. Can be hard to get a seat. Little overpriced but thats what youd expect from a trendy cocktail bar in Denver.
