The KEY to horrible banking stems from this place. Worst Bank on so many levels of dissatisfaction. If I ever find a branch that's open I am making sure my accounts are closed this time. KEY BANK CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

I have been lied to many times by the banker who started my accounts. He said he knew my pin # after asking my directly for it. Come to find out it's illegal for them to have access to it so why was he asking g me for my pin#? Then I call the district manager to report the behavior and he does t even call me back. They have supported him in this. They wouldnt allow me access to all my money denying me a larger withdrawal amount on my atm. They refuse to cash checks for my business clients. The list goes on and on.

Save yourself the time, money, and hassle and stay as far away from this bank as possible. This used to be one of the best banks in Colorado but to my astonishment they have become not only inept but they also are addicted to fees and will always look to take as much $ from you as possible. I have been with this bank since 2016, and was given a “Privilege Account” which means I get certain advantages, but I do not remember being explained what the advantages were as I was young and just looking for A safe place to keep my money. Well in 2017 I made the decision to quit my job and enter treatment for Substance abuse and mental health bc admittedly I had a problem and needed to clean up my act. So I dedicated 8 months to treatment and came out and have been sober since Nov 2017. I immediately picked up another job and was back working full time. Fast forward to May 2021, I have a fraud alert so my card is canceled. I visit my local branch for the first time in years to withdrawal $ to cover until my new card arrives. I was having a nice friendly chat with the teller and she informed me that I wasn't receiving the benefits of my account and was being charge maintenance fees as well as not receiving over draft protection that I was entitled Even though I met the requirements of not having such fees. So they direct me to a banker and within 5 minutes he discovers the problem and explains they was an internal coding error which he the. “Fixed” as well as refunded me the past 2 months of fees and one overdraft which is all he could do, but told Me I had to see a Branch manager about the 40+ months that I was charged $25 a month, As well as the fees charged for overdrafts during that period, a sum which totaled almost $1200!!! So I visited a Branch manager and he was great and looked into it and found again that there was still a coding error but they had fixed it. But then he instructed me that he could not help with the 40+ months of fees bc I didn’t not open the account at that location and had to go back to the original branch, who of course did not have a branch manager at that time. So I was then directed to another manager who was “covering” and was told that this matter was being looked into and they would get back to me. So in the meantime I went through every statement and found that I reached the requirements and highlighted those requirements as well as the overdraft fees that I received from my Online Banking just to make sure that I was in fact correct. I also scanned and sent in a series of these statements, and was told 4 weeks in a row that someone would reach out and the matter was escalated. I did not receive one call back until I finally receive a call last Friday saying they are putting $300 in my account while they were still looking into the matter, and then I saw one more deposit of $300 and was happy thinking they had finally come to their senses and were making things right. But, two days ago I open my mobile app and see that $300 was taken back out of my account with no heads up or understanding, so I called the bank again and found out they were never going to give me more than $300 ever and that missing $300 was them taking back the $300 because they made a mistake and gave me too much, which is so incredibly ironic because they are that quick to recover money they mistakenly paid out, but they of course were more than happy to take my $ for 40+ months because of their mistake but only we’re only ever going to reconcile my account with a years worth of fees being returned. So I’m done with this once loved bank and encourage anyone whose had similar awful experiences to advocate for themselves if they believe they have been unfair treated and looks into file a claim with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which is a government agency that protect consumers from mistreatment and in fair acts by any Financial Institution you trust with your hard earned money because in my experience it’s rather clear that Key Bank is out for themselves and no their clients.
