I really wish I would have gone with a different lawyer. My DUI happened under unique circumstances and in hindsight, I should have gone about my court case completely differently than the way I did. I was neither drunk nor driving, I was sleeping in my car and made the mistake of telling the police that I was prescribed a certain medication from my doctor. The advice I received from Steinberg was to plea down to a DWAI. I attempted to communicate the details with Mr Steinberg, but every time I I tried to discuss my case Mr Steinberg was unfamiliar and confused by what I was talking about. When we showed up to court, he didn't even know who I was, much less the story / evidence I had tried to share with him. I then foolishly hired him for a second court case directly related to the same incident. This time when he reviewed the details from the first court case he looked displeased like it wasn't handled properly. He then asked who represented me on the first case like he was about to talk bad about them, and when I told him that HE represented me he looked very embarrassed. Now, two years later the outcome of this case is still affecting my life negatively in a very major way. All for a crime I didn't even really commit. I feel that if Mr Steinberg had properly reviewed the details and evidence I had presented with him, that he didn't even submit to the court, things would have gone differently and I wouldn't be in this mess.

I came to Mr. Steinberg after having violated a DUI parole and leaving the state of Colorado without permission. Mr. Steinberg represented me while I attended an inpatient facility in California and I was unable to communicate with my parole officer or the court system. Mr. Steinberg made sure that my parole officer and the courts were aware of the positive steps I was taking to address my drug addiction and kept me apprised of how my actions were being received by them. When we made our first and only court appearance Mr. Steinberg explained to me exactly what materials to bring and present to the court and he expertly laid out our case to the court. Because of his knowledge and skill we were able to get exactly the verdict we were looking for despite the fact that the D.A. was asking for a much harsher sentence. After the court resolution I went to speak to my P.O. and she had nothing but nice things to say about her interactions with Mr. Steinberg. She also emphasized to me how lucky I was to have engaged an attorney that really seemed to care about the outcome of the case. Overall I was very happy with the service Mr. Steinberg provided me and would highly recommend him.
