The Palace Hotel had absolutely great food in their Dining Room, and Singing Waiters during the heyday of the Palace Hotel.

I didn't stay here but walked past during the Ice Festival. It seems they're working on renovations to bring this piece of history back to life! I hope they really put 100% effort into this because the basic design of the building can turn into into a historic landmark like Hotel Colorado. Love cripple creek and what they're doing even if it is more of a gambling town like Black Hawk or Central City. They still preserving what true America was, Ambitious. Look forward to seeing this place open and staying a couple nights !!!

SAD to say, but I once knew the owners of this once magnificent hotel where they had boarded horses with mine in Colorado Springs..., this being, after they were taxed to death by Cripple Creek... This family, The Lays. took exceptional care of the Palace for many generations..they cherished this building....it was so wicked how they were drained dry by Teller County...many casino entrepreneurs lost their buildings and gift shops, all due to an apparent flat tax across the board... Cripple Creek didnt care if you made 900..9000...90000 per month...everyone was taxed the same..family's went Bankrupt....this is such a shameful thing, what was done... The Palace Hotel is rotting away...such a glorious building that should have been maintained by Century Casinos...look up the history since they took over...I know because I'm in Cripple Creek, looking at it...
