Mascarenas Painting

Do not hire Timothy Mascarenas to do any work, such as painting/remodeling/refinishing hard wood floor. Timothy Mascarenas is unprofessional n hasnoworkethics. He took 2000$ down payment from me on Sep 17th but only did one minute worth of work! He promised he will refinishing the hard wood floor for total cost $3600 within a week after he received the 2000$ down payment. Of course after he received the down payment, he never did show up to work on the floor. A wk after the agreement start date (no show no call). He claimed he had to finish one job in steamboat. He again promisedhewillstart on the weekend.Of course again he never show up and told me he can't work because his step dad passed away. He then promised agin he will start on the following Tuesday. He did show up on that Tuesday 09/28 for 1 minute with his girlfriend n made her did that one minute worth of sanding. Then disappeared again. I gave him another chance hopefully he will finish in another 10 days. Never did! He didn't even bother to respond back my message. He did Not do the work nor return the money, he didn't even have the decency to return the house key! I do not wish this stress n frustration I have to go through on anyone.

Highly unreliable, untrustworthy, and unprofessional. Tim asked me do a 50% down payment in order to start right away, which I regrettably sent him, but he didnt start for quite a while complaining of sickness. I gave them him the benefit of the doubt, and patiently waited. After he finally did start he slipped his completion on me multiple times, telling me that he needed to finish up another place before he could start on my place. Again I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but then after not returning my calls for a week, he told me he was out of the state and wouldnt be able to finish on the date that he promised me, which jeopardized the sale of the house. He told me one reason for being out of the state, and he told his former employer a totally different reason. Since I needed to wrap this up in order to sell the house, we decided to not continue and I agreed to pay him $1000 for the work he just began in a 5 gallon bucket of paint. He told me he would refund the rest of my down payment, however he has blocked my calls and Im going to need to go through small claims court.
