Southwest Medical Group Primary Care

Veterans with community care through the VA, DO NOT GO HERE! I understand if you're in the Dolores/Mancos/Cortez area, there's limited options for community care providers, but unless you are in good mental health, this place will make you lose your mind in trying to get anything done outside of your primary care visit. Anything outside of your regular provider visit, you need an additional authorization from Southwest (ex. Mammogram), which gets sent to the VA--but only if you can find someone at Southwest that actually knows how to do this, which after at least 3 phone calls, I have been unable to get done. I was told by the VA that many veterans in the area use Southwest, so I thought the issues would be minimal, but I was wrong. At this point, I'm going to forego care because I just don't have the energy to deal with Southwest. The people at Southwest are kind, but competence is scattered.

Mullen is absolutely amazing. She has taken time to care about what I need, she isnt judgmental or unkind which seems to be a common theme in alot of practices in Cortez (axis) being the worst. But Mullen has exceeded my expectations as well as everyone else I have encountered in this office. I appreciate them going above and beyond to make sure I have great care. I highly recommend this office and especially Dr Mullen !!!

The front office staff can make or break a practice.....this is a broken system. Left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing! Very poor communication and an attitude over the phone!!! Ill pass on this practice for those reasons, NOT because of the doctors, theyve been very good!
