Trying to contact the funeral director was near impossible. I tried for about 3 days before someone finally answered. This business apparently doesn't honor marriage and excluded me from anything being done for my husband's funeral plans. I asked questions pertaining to tasks that I wasn't sure how to do. ie; notifying social security and how to obtain the death certificate for my personal reasons and to use if any debts would need to be taken care of. The female who answered the phone was rude. This specific type of business is said to offer comfort, advice, and more for the grieving. Unfortunately, not this location.

Our family lost our loved one at the end of October. Our loved one passed away in the Denver Metro area, and had to be taken care of with a Denver local funeral home and after was transported back home to Cortez. After our loved one returned back home to Cortez the Ertel staff made sure that they took time to call us, to let us know our loved one was home safe and in good care. The staff of Ertel Funeral Home went above and beyond making sure that our loved one was taken care of. They are very compassionate people who care about other families and their concerns. They answer question after question with open communication. Any request or concern that I encountered with The Ertel Staff went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you again for taking care of our loved on, AND us during this difficult time.

Thank you for helping us lay my granny to rest! It was very comforting to know that she was in such great care! I also want to thank you for making sure the rosary I got for her was wrapped in her hand! You all went above and beyond for our family and it did not go without recognition!
