They have been doing our taxes for decades, but ownership and management have changed a little.  Last year the principal had a heart condition and had arranged for an accounting company to take care of clients, although I believe he reviewed everything.This year it is back to a small office with a personal touch.  We actually were doing both my mother-in-laws and our own return.  Mother-in-law-unit's was simple and we walked out with final version which was e-filed and check mailed to us.  We needed some additional data and as soon as we supplied that we were able to pick up our completed return--also e-filed.Was interesting, we had to pay a lot this year instead of getting a little back.  Change was caused by improper withholding with new Trump tax law.  When I compared effective tax rate, it had gone up by a piddly .04 of one per cent--basically no change from last year.  So where is this "tax reduction" everyone keeps talking about?
