Drum lessons with Daniel James Drums

Daniel has been great with our son, who had no musical education before our first meeting. Daniel got to know him quickly and found songs that taught basic rhythms but our son was still excited to play. His musical ability has really flourished and continues to grow under Daniels guidance. I highly recommend Daniel for anyone that has an interest in getting into drums.

My 16 year old son has been getting lessons with Dan since June 2021. The progress that my son has made in the past 11 months is amazing. Dan has a great mix of practicing basics, rudients, reading drum notation, learning songs that use a technique just learned, getting into songs my son likes, and my son looks forward to his drum lessons every week. Dan also finds the things that my son is interested in and incorporates those into a practice routine. For example, videoing yourself playing a song and making a video and putting it on youtube. These things Dan shows my son gets him excited to practice, and my son will practice on his own at least 3 days a week. My son wants to audition for the worship band at pur church, and Dan is super excited and developed a plan to get my son ready for it. Dan's experience teaching and playing gigs has helped with things my son wasn't expecting, like how to play with a click track. My son loves his drum lessons with Dan, and actually looks forward to his lessons every week. I would rate 8 stars out of 5 if I could!

Dan is a fantastic teacher! He is so approachable for questions and is able to match anyones musical learning style. He totally helped me re-discover my passion for percussion that I thought had faded away years ago!

We are so glad we were referred to Daniel James Drums for my 12 year old son's drum lessons. Daniel does an amazing job of engaging my son and meeting him where he is at in terms of pace, ability, and musical tastes. We live in the mountains, so virtual lessons have worked very well for us. Highly recommended!

This dude is hands down one of the most talented percussionists around, and he's a phenomenal teacher to boot! His passion for teaching really shows through his patience and willingness to work with different learning styles, and he really knows how to break down different techniques and exercises to make them easy to understand no matter what level you're at. I highly recommend Daniel if you're looking to pick up the drums, or looking to take your skills to the next level!
