This school is not good for upper grades. They have 1 math teacher conducting 4 math subjects at once by having everyone watch their specific video. No teaching going on just videos and assignments. The chemistry teacher assigns the students reading and homework every night but discusses politics and his religious beliefs during the entire class time. This same teacher also teaches a class about Colorado. During this class however, he actually talks about Colorado and does a decent job teaching that as he does stick to the subject. He chose to show the teenage class the reality series "High Profits" , which follows Breckenridge Cannabis Club. The drastic difference in teaching makes me wonder if he knows much about Chemistry at all since he does not address chemistry during Chemistry. I think the most he did talk about in that class was the states of matter (water, gas, etc) but that is elementary level. Every other lesson was surrounding his life opinions. Many upper grade students and parents chose to go elsewhere the following year. Honestly, an online class would equip any upper level student better than this school.

So happy as a parent! My daughter has learned so much, but more importantly has developed a compassionate Christian sense of character. So blessed to have the wonderful teachers helping her to become the girl she is today and the woman she will be in the future!

About
Pikes Peak Christian School
Pikes Peak Christian School (PPCS) is an accredited coeducational private Christian school for children two years old through high school from all walks of life. PPCS was founded as a ministry by members of the Eastside Church of Christ in 1981 to serve the Colorado Springs area. Our mission is to provide a quality, Bible-based education taught by Christian teachers in a safe and compassionate environment. We strive to identify and develop the academic, social, and spiritual potential of each student in partnership with God and family. What makes PPCS different from other schools?Student Focused, Christ-centered CurriculumAt PPCS your childs education is not dictated by a one size fits all curriculum, or by test-driven mandates. Instead, we use a variety of proven publishers and programs (both Christian and secular) to provide the most relevant and effective academic material at each grade level. Our entire curriculum is presented through a Biblical worldview by our Christian staff in a way that challenges and enables students to think critically and develop important skills while encountering the incredible God who created and sustains everything. Biblically Based, Meaningful Character FormationAt PPCS we go beyond efforts to develop good people with basic character education. We teach, model, and develop the timeless values and truths established in the Bible and lived out by Jesus Christ that impacts the very hearts of our students. We do so through mentoring, classroom instruction, regular chapel experiences, small groups, service activities, and accountability actions. Through our partnering with parents, local churches, and the community, spiritual character development is not just a program but a way of life for our staff and students. Whole Person, Whole EducationAt PPCS education is not a singular objective or a fast track to the next phase in life. We strongly believe that education is more than just academics because it involves the whole person heart, soul, body, and mind. That is why we provide our students as many opportunities as possible to develop their social, physical, and emotional skills in addition to academics. Through programs in the fine arts, athletics, clubs, and many other extracurricular activities, students can develop their God-given abilities, learn teamwork, and enjoy new experiences to help build their whole person.
